Chapter 27

" She’s not answering! She’s not answering!"

Angelika screamed and hit the phone.

She looked at her brother, sitting on his bed.

He seemed to be lost, his expression was incredulous, and he rubbed his hands against each other.

That was his way of showing he was worried.

" Maybe she is in some hotel having fun..." suggested, but did not look at her sister.

She looked at him, knowing that not even he believed what he said.

Angelika went to the phone again, and called her mother’s phone, and again got no response.

She turned to Bastien, still sitting huddled at the end of his bed, and decided that he needed to react.

" And since when would our mother travel without talking to us? Are you crazy?"

Bastien reacted to his sister’s raised tone, he stood up and walked to the phone, then dialed the number and waited on the line exactly as Angelika had just done.

When the same thing happened to her sister, happened to him, the boy looked at her.

" See what I’m saying? She wouldn’t do that. Oh my
