Amira’s POV

I can’t believe it. I actually woke up feeling rested. I lay beneath the blankets for a few moments, staring at the ceiling as the morning light filtered through the curtains. There was no pounding on my door, no one screaming my name, and no fear sitting in the pit of my stomach about what the day might bring. I hadn’t spent half the night listening for footsteps or worrying about what Edward might do to me next. I’d actually slept.

I rolled onto my side and smiled into my pillo

  • The Rise Of The Last Golden Wolf   Let’s Go Meet Her

Darian’s POV I was halfway through reviewing the latest reports from our border patrols when my phone vibrated against the desk. I glanced down, expecting another update from one of the search teams. We had been receiving reports for weeks, and none of them had brought us any closer to finding my daughter. Seventeen years. Seventeen years of searching, hoping, and refusing to accept that my little girl was gone forever. I had lost my mate, my queen, and the child who should have grown up beside us. The convoy attack had taken everything from me, and although we had searched every road, forest, and abandoned settlement in the Southern Kingdom, Amira had vanished without a trace. I picked up my phone and saw Luciano’s name on the screen. The Northern King and I had been in regular contact throughout the search. His warriors had been helping mine, and he had made it clear that finding my daughter was just as important to him as it was to me. I opened his message. I frowned at the s

  • The Rise Of The Last Golden Wolf   Letting Him Know

Luciano’s POV The farther we traveled into the woods, the more I found myself looking down at the woman resting in my arms. Amira was still unconscious, her head nestled against my chest as I carried her bridal style. She looked so peaceful that it was hard to believe she’d been the one responsible for freezing all those armed men only minutes earlier. I brushed a strand of hair away from her face. When was she going to wake up? Would she come around before we reached the palace, or was I going to have to carry her all the way there without knowing whether she was all right? I knew she wasn’t going to be happy when she discovered I’d taken her away from the house. Her friends had made that perfectly clear, and judging by the way Valerie had looked at me, I was probably going to have a few more arguments waiting for me once we arrived. Lucius stirred. “You found our mate. That’s what matters.” “I know that,” I replied. “But she’s going to be a handful.” “She’s our mate. What did

  • The Rise Of The Last Golden Wolf   The Blast

Alfonso's POV A little while ago, Team Two had reported that they had found Amira. According to their message, she had practically walked right into their hands at the safe house. I had been pleased with the news, especially after spending days sending my men searching every corner of the surrounding territory. Finally, we had something to show for all that effort. But that was the last time I heard from them. I even sent an additional team in as well. But yet I still heard nothing from any of them. I'd spent the better part of an hour trying to reach Team Two and the other team. I sent messages through the mind link and even tried reaching some of the individual warriors. Nothing. Not a single response. That wasn't like my men. They knew better than to ignore an order from me, especially when they were supposed to be holding a woman I had specifically instructed them to bring back alive. I looked over at Marcus, who was standing beside me. “Have you heard from them?" He shook

  • The Rise Of The Last Golden Wolf   To The Palace

Luciano's POV I’m glad I picked Amira up before she could fall, pulling her against my chest as her body went completely limp. For a moment, I simply stood there, looking down at her. “Amira?" I said softly. She didn't answer. I adjusted my hold and looked at her face. Her breathing was steady, but she wasn't responding. Whatever she'd done to freeze all those men had taken more out of her than she'd been willing to admit. “Luciano?" Dante called from behind me. “Get over here." I ordered quietly. He crossed the room, his eyes moving from Amira to the men standing frozen around us. "Is she all right?" He asked with concern. “I don't know. She was swaying a moment ago, insisted she was fine, and then passed out as soon as I picked her up." I looked down at her again. "I'm thinking it's from using her powers. She's frozen an entire group of armed men, and then another group when they came inside." Dante glanced toward the frozen men. “That's quite a few." “No shit." I carrie

  • The Rise Of The Last Golden Wolf   I’ll Freeze Them Too

Luciano's POV I shook my head, staring at the woman standing in front of me. Amira was looking right back at me, one finger still pointed in my direction as if she fully intended to follow through on her threat if I gave her a reason. I glanced over my shoulder at the front door, then pointed toward it. “That was you?" She nodded her head once. I looked back at her, trying to make sense of what I'd just experienced. "The cave. When my men and I were frozen. Was that you too?" Her head dipped in another nod. My eyebrow lifted. Well, that was interesting. “So, in town, why didn't you freeze me then?" She shrugged her shoulders. "Too many people." I stared at her for another moment. Apparently, the only reason I hadn't ended up standing frozen in the middle of a town was because she didn't want an audience. I took a couple of steps toward her, glancing around the room at the people watching us. "Can we talk alone, please?" Amira shook her head before pointing directly at my che

  • The Rise Of The Last Golden Wolf   Be Good

Amira’s POV I stood staring at the man in front of me, unable to believe what I’d just done. I froze him. I actually froze the Lycan King. Again. Taking a couple of steps backward, I looked him over, hoping there was some way I could undo what had just happened without having to deal with the consequences. In my defense, I hadn’t known it was him. The door had flown open, and a man had charged straight into the house. I’d assumed he was another one of the men I’d frozen outside, and my instincts had taken over before I’d had a chance to think. But now I knew exactly who was standing in front of me. Luciano. My mate. The very man I’d been trying to avoid since our encounter in town. I could smell him now, and his chocolate and coffee scent filled the room. It was unmistakable. I wished I’d recognized it before I’d raised my hands because then I might have avoided this entire situation. Oh, Goddess. What have I done? ‘Well, you certainly made an entrance,’ Aurelia commented. I gr
