MasukSERAPHINA
~<>~ With every minute that ticked away, my sanity fractured. Every second alone in that room, not knowing what was happening to my daughter, was hotter than hell. My mind became a whirlwind of horrific images. Celeste cries. The needles are breaking her fragile skin. The dark Healer’s gnarly hands… “They are going to kill her, Kia,” I whispered into the hollow space in my mind, crumbling as all hopes of breaking the locks drowned. “They planned this. They definitely want more than her blood.” Kia snarled in response, her vibrating growl echoing through me. “We have to get to her before it’s too late.” Kia retorted, gearing me up even though we both knew there was no way out. My heart ached, struggling with that truth, “The door won’t budge.” Kia was silent for what seemed like an eternity before she gasped, my mind exploding with her idea, “Then we jump, Sera. The window is big enough. I will get us on the ground safely.” That was all I needed to hear to jolt into action. I couldn’t care less about breaking my bones from jumping out the window. Hell! I blamed myself for not thinking about it for the past hours. Without hesitation, I forced the windows open, the cool air hitting my heated skin. My room was on the second story of the mansion, with rose bushes sitting below like a beautiful weapon. I would rather be torn into pieces by the thorns than waste another second. Climbing onto the ledge, I threw myself into the dark. I hit the ground hard, the impact rattling my teeth, and thorns sliced across my arms like tiny razors. But Kia was already at work, flooding my veins with adrenaline. “Run.” She urged. “Before they realize the room is empty.” I tore through the shadows of the forest towards the pack hospital. That was the only place the transfusion could happen, so Celeste has to be there… alive and unharmed, or I will never forgive myself. When I reached the pack hospital, I couldn’t make it to the entrance door. More guards were standing there, blocking my attempts to go around them. But they did more than block my path. “This is an order from the Alpha and Lady Dahlia!” One of the guards sneered. “Stop the disgraced Luna, who attempted to kill the Alpha heir at any cost.” That was an order they had been waiting for, a chance to do more than hurt me with their rumors. The redheaded guard directly in front of me smirked, connecting his tightly balled fist to my stomach. The force threw my body back, pain crackling through my ribs. But I didn’t stop. I couldn’t. I threw myself at them again and again. I clawed. Bit. Screamed and fought like a feral animal for my baby’s sake. They hit me—brutal, heavy blows that bruised my ribs and split my lip—but I kept crawling toward those doors. “Seraphina!” Rexton bellowed, his voice like a whip meant to tear what was left of my battered skin. He stood by the door, looking down at me with a mixture of disgust and annoyance. “Stop this nonsense at once!” He ordered, perfectly composed, while I bled in the hands of his men. “G-give her b-back…” I winced, spitting blood onto the pavement. His men dropped me like a bag of rotten fruit. I crawled closer to Rexton, forcing myself to my feet. “You wouldn’t even look at her.” Pain erupted inside of me. Not just physical, but also something deep in my soul. “You never held her but… but you’re happy to drain her b-blood to save your son.” I wheezed, tears trickling uncontrollably down my cheeks. “You are a scumbag!” I exclaimed, filled with the hurt he had caused me. A collective gasp rippled through the gathered guards. To disrespect an Alpha so publicly was writing a suicide note. Rexton’s face turned a terrifying shade of red. In a blur, he was down the pavement. His hand clamped around my throat, lifting me off my feet. I clawed at his wrist, my vision beginning to dim as he squeezed. "I have been patient with you," Rexton hissed, his dark eyes glistening with anger. "But I will not have my authority questioned by trash like you!” His hold got tighter, my life dangling by a broken thread. But suddenly, a piercing, commanding voice reverberated. “Let. Her. Go.” Instantly, Rexton’s hold loosened, not because he chose to but because his muscles failed him, obeying an authority greater than his. He collapsed back, gasping, his Alpha aura snuffed out like a candle in a hurricane. I fell also, but I didn't hit the ground. Strong, familiar arms caught me.I remember now—he was the man who saved me at the border just days ago! "You..." I whispered. "I’ve got you," he murmured, his eyes blazing with a protective fury that made my skin tingle. But he wasn't the source of the power. My eyes found the source standing a few feet away. It was a man who looked like a god of war. He was taller than Rexton, draped in furs and black steel, his presence so commanding that the very shadows seemed to bow to him. Even though I didn’t know who he was, my body hummed with strange recognition. "Who are you!" Rexton shouted, struggling to stand against the crushing weight of Damon’s energy. "How did you get into my pack without detection?" But he didn’t flinch. Or even look at Rexton. His eyes were fixed on me, shimmering with an intensity that felt like a physical touch. "Expel them!" Rexton hollered to his guards. "Kill them all!” Yet not a single guard moved. They stayed pinned to the ground, unable to control their bodies. "I didn't come here to shed blood." He— the strange, powerful man said, his voice like a soothing thunder. Calm but echoing with threats. "I only want her. But if you force my hand, I won't hesitate to make your pack's soil as crimson as its name." "How dare you!" Rexton gritted out, his face contorted as he fought to break the strong hold of the familiar stranger’s aura. "You can't take her! She is mine! You can't take my Luna!" Kieran, still holding me tightly against his chest, let out a harsh, mocking laugh. "Seems she hasn't been marked yet. No bite. No claim. You have no right to her." “Then she comes with me.” The familiar stranger said with a tone of finality. I saw him walking closer to me… as if to claim me, but the closer he got, the heavier the air got. Everything began to fade–The hospital doors. Rexton screams. "M-my... Ce-Celeste..." I managed to whisper, my fingers curling into Kieran’s tunic. "Don't... leave..." “I won’t leave you, Celeste.” The familiar stranger whispered to me. He thought I was Celeste. Before I could tell him that he was wrong, the pressure intensified, and the darkness finally pulled me under.ALPHA REXTON~~“I can’t believe you would do this! To a child!” Nicola had yelled at me a few hours ago, yet I could still hear his voice echoing in the back of my mind. Hours ago, Celeste, the daughter I hadn’t seen for years until the night I went into the palace to reclaim her, woke up earlier than I calculated. That was a mistake on my part because somehow, I had forgotten that she had the Lycan gene within her. I had no choice but to dismantle my back seat again and pull out her body from underneath the foam and leather. Her scent was still concealed from the potion I got from Nicola… the same one that helped me sneak into the palace without getting caught. Of course, since I wasn’t invisible, it was still difficult, but years of war had taught me how to sneak around my enemies and get whatever I wanted. And this time, it was Celeste… my daughter. “You knocked out your own daughter with drugs, abducted her, and buried her in a suffocating—" “I made sure she can breathe
SERAPHINA~~No…That one word hit me like a tsunami, crashing over the very high hope I had spent the last few minutes building. It chilled my blood, leaving me gasping for air in a hallway that suddenly felt too small to breathe in.I stared at him, my heart still clenching. I expected everything but this.I got that he was mad, but I didn’t think he was angry enough to say no to me and reject marking me. I-I didn’t even prepare myself for this. Hell! I barely prepared myself to ask that question. W-what… w-what was I supposed to say or do now? So I turn around and do a walk of shame back to my room? Do I tell him not to go to Crimson Moon Pack with me anymore? Do I cut ties with him and give us both the break it seemed like we needed?“No, Sera,” Kia grunted into my mind, her own heart pounding faster than mine. “You can’t just assume again and let him be. A-ask him why.” My Lycan stuttered as fear gripped us both. But I still asked, staring at Kieran’s face even though I wa
SERAPHINA~~I have been up all night, and as much as I would like to say that the thought of my daughter was the only thing that kept me up, I couldn’t. After all, my heart beat and ached all night because of a particular silver-eyed man. I just didn’t like how we left things last night, but I couldn’t get myself to go to him because I–“Because of your pride, Sera.” Kia blurted just as I exited the bathroom where I had freshened up in preparation for the journey ahead. “This isn’t about pride, Kia.” I countered, using a towel to dry my hair. My Lycan scoffed even though she should know better. She was the one person who should understand how I felt. “And that’s exactly why I’m telling you that the only reason you have been stopping yourself from marching towards his room all night is that you are holding on to pride.” Kia repeated the same accusation, this time with more words, but the same message was passed. I was about to tell her that she was wrong. Again. I mean, Kier
ALPHA REXTON~~If anyone ever asked me to define the term Rough with an incident, I wouldn’t think twice before I mentioned last night and throw in a few details from this morning. “It was rough but worth it,” Kane muttered within me as my eyes cut to the back seat of my car.Yes, I agreed, and if given the chance, I would do it again—“Alpha, are you alright?”Nicola’s voice hit my eardrums softly, forcing me to look at him briefly before I turned my eyes back on the road. He was sitting beside me, and I had been driving for almost twenty-four hours, hoping to get to my pack sooner because I didn’t know what force was coming behind me. While I had warned Seraphina against coming with anyone, I couldn’t be sure she would listen. I couldn’t be sure this won’t blow up in my face—“Are we being followed?” Nicola queried, cutting my thoughts short again. He had been quiet since we left the Lycan Realm, but now that we were getting closer to Crimson Moon Pack, he was becoming chatty
SERAPHINA~~Huh? What? D-did I hear him correctly? Or was my mind playing cheap, unfunny tricks on me? It had to be the latter. After all, this was Kieran, and he wouldn’t utter those words to me, not now. Not when we should be focused on finding my daughter and getting her home safely. The Kieran I knew and was ready to create a deeper bond with wasn’t selfish. He wasn’t Rexton, and he would never–“Ina?” Kieran’s voice sliced through my loud thoughts. My eyes fluttered slowly, locking with his as I smiled. “Sorry, I spaced out.” “Yeah, I figured.” Kieran mirrored the small smile on my face, and everything was fine again until he added, “But you haven’t answered my question.” Brows furrowed and heart skipping beats, I squeaked, “What question is that?” Internally, I hoped it wasn’t the same one I had convinced myself was created by my overwhelmed brain. Heck! I pleaded it wouldn’t be the same. But within a heartbeat, my hopes were smashed, and my pleas fell on deaf ears,
KIERAN’S POV (12)~~The pain in Ina’s voice and the anguish in her eyes made me feel ten times worse than I already felt. I would be lying if I said Celeste’s abduction wasn’t partially my fault. I have been a distraction to Ina these past few days. If I hadn’t been, she would have been with Celeste, or Celeste would have been in her bedroom. But–“This isn’t the time to point fingers, Kieran. She needs us.” Alan was quick to call me back to my senses. My eyes cut to Ina again, and before Damon could point out every obvious reason that this could be a trap Rexton had put in place to not just have Celeste but also Ina, I let out without hesitating, “I am going with you.”“That’s crazy. You both are the ones acting rashly. Rexton is a mouse—" “A mouse who had managed to earn your trust within a few weeks despite what he did in the past, Damon!” Ina snapped, cutting her brother off angrily. Before now, she had only expressed pain. But in that moment, she let her anger out, but at
SERAPHINA~~It’s happening tomorrow. The gala that I have dreaded for the past week will happen tomorrow, and while I genuinely looked forward to picking Dr. Nicola’s brain, I still wish I didn’t have to attend."But you have to." Kia's thoughts collided with mine. "You know how important this i
ALPHA REXTON~~The feel of her lush, juicy lips on mine caused my heart to quicken with excitement. I heard myself moan into the kiss, feeling a deep sense of relief because the long period of yearning was finally over. My arms snaked slowly around her waist, tracing the familiar curves as I pu
SERAPHINA~~“We are finally free.” Kia hummed happily in my mind the minute we crossed the invisible borderline. The air also changed, not just with the drop in the temperature, but also with the absence of the choking atmosphere of Crimson Moon Pack. The last time I felt this shift, I wanted
FIVE YEARS LATERSERAPHINA~~My chest rose and fell in rapid succession. My breath was harsh and deep as the heavy wind of the valley blew past me as I dashed through the cleared path. Or even more appropriately, the wind bowed to me.Kia tore through the high valley, her Lycan legs barely touc
