I stood in front of the open fridge lost in my thoughts. My mind was already a mess from this early morning. Moving around used to feel like an adventure but this, leaving for a couple of weeks feels scary. Like I'm going to miss or lose something important if I leave.
But now Maya is on a lunch date with Beta Rain. What does it mean? Are they for real? Is this why she said that we'll definitely come back here when her work is done. If it's the case, I don't even know how I should feel about it. Can I even be happy for her? I hated myself for thinking this way, I have to be happy if she's really seeing him, but still...

Eliane POVEven though the talk I had with Maya helped ease my anxiety, I still felt a bit on edge. It must be about her business trip and my stay at Beta Rain's house. Maya POVI slid down against the closed door feeling drained. I hugged my knees and let the tears flow freely. I was beyond exhausted, physically, and mentally.
