Lora's POV

For a brief second, it felt like the whole room was turning around me and the only sound I could hear was my heartbeat together with the doctor’s words repeating again and again inside my mind.

“Congratulations Miss Elena, you are pregnant with quadruplets.”

My eyes blinked many times as I looked at the doctor who stared at me calmly. Then suddenly, I laughed.

At first, it was only a soft chuckle before it slowly turned into a loud, uncontrollable laugh.

The doctor looked puzzled while he traded quick glances with the maid standing beside the door, her face filled with obvious confusion.

This was insane!

I mean, was this some sort of prank or what exactly was going on?

While shaking my head through the laughter leaving my lips, I tossed the pregnancy report back toward the doctor. “Sir, I think you are wrong, there is no way I could be pregnant not to talk of carrying four babies!!!”

“We carried out many tests before reaching this result. Congratulations once again.”

Seeing how serious he looked, the smile vanished from my face. “What!”

My mind raced while my heart slammed hard against my chest. Tears gathered in my eyes, burning under my eyelids as my thoughts returned to the conversation with Dr. James.

She said my womb was damaged. She told me I would never get pregnant again so how was this even possible?

Not one but four babies!

But the instant Xavier’s face appeared inside my head, the happiness growing inside me disappeared and fear replaced it.

Fuckkk. I was carrying his children. I should feel happy. I mean, I truly felt relieved that Dr. James had been wrong but realizing that I was pregnant with Xavier’s babies who would later be taken away from me the moment I finished raising them made my stomach ache badly.

If my father ever found out that I was pregnant with Xavier’s babies, then not only would he throw me away but he would also kill me.

Besides, I still had to return to Ryder and Dylan and make them pay for everything they did.

The only way I could leave this place was by hiding the truth about my pregnancy and besides, how could I even know for sure that the doctor was correct?

Shivers ran through my body as I shifted nervously in my seat and fixed my eyes directly on the doctor while forcing a smile as I leaned forward. “Sir, can you please not tell Xavier about the pregnancy...”

The doctor cut in. “Why?”

I swallowed hard. “I think there may be a mistake and...”

I had barely finished speaking when cold chills spread across my skin as a deep voice echoed through the room, ringing inside my ears and sending icy shivers through my body.

My heart froze as I slowly turned toward the direction of the voice.

Xavier stood near the entrance and seeing him again made my heart beat painfully while my lips opened in shock. His eyes carried confusion and he asked, “Why should he hide it from me?”

I swallowed nervously, moving my eyes away from him while wishing the ground would open up and swallow me completely. It wasn’t because I was scared he heard our discussion, I was afraid because of the way he looked at me.

His stare was deep, sharp, and dangerously attractive.

The doctor stood up, lowering his head respectfully before him. “I believe she is shocked. Finding out she is carrying four babies at once may have overwhelmed her and...”

Xavier raised his hand, signaling him to stop and the second he walked toward me, my heart pounded wildly. “I would rather hear it from my breeder herself.” His voice was low but dangerously cold, yet another strange emotion flashed inside his eyes.

Interest?

Getting up from my chair, I locked my hands behind my back as fear ate deeply inside me. Xavier moved closer and before I could understand what was happening, he was already standing right in front of me.

As I lifted my eyes to him, he spoke. “Did you think I would break my promise of letting you leave after giving birth to the children?”

I lowered my head, shutting my eyes tightly when reality reminded me that I had a past filled with stillbirths. There was still a high chance that Doctor James had been wrong and the nightmare of dead babies would happen again.

I breathed out softly and said, “It just sounded impossible.”

Xavier was about to answer when a brown-haired woman with a beautiful smile walked in gracefully. She looked elegant, classy, and incredibly beautiful.

Who was she?

After greeting the doctor who treated her respectfully, she stood beside Xavier, linking her arm with his and he smiled.

He actually smiled!

The moment her eyes landed on me, they brightened with a small smile and she removed her hand from Xavier’s arm, walked toward me, closed the space between us, and hugged me warmly.

Xavier kept watching me carefully with sharp attention like he was trying to read through my soul completely. The woman held my cheeks and kissed them softly.

“Hi, I am Dora.”

As confusion filled my mind, I answered. “I am Ele...”

Before I could complete my words, she interrupted. “Elena Lockwood. I am Xavier’s fiancée and he already told me about you. I was the one who convinced him to choose a breeder. He never wanted such a thing but he loves me too much to deny me anything.”

Then she shocked me when she bent slightly and placed her ear against my stomach. “I can already feel my babies.”

Only if she knew they would end up dead at birth.

Even with that painful thought, hearing her call them her babies felt wrong to me. They were mine and not hers!

“Your babies?” I whispered softly.

As I spoke, discomfort tightened deeply inside my stomach because of Xavier’s hard stare at me. Looking at him made my heartbeat pause.

Why was he staring at me like he wanted to kill me? Had he already discovered who I truly was?

Dora puffed her lips slightly while glancing at Xavier. “Honey, didn’t you tell her the babies would belong to us?”

Honey? Did she really call Xavier honey?

To me, he looked like a demon.

Xavier shifted his eyes away from my face, giving her a smile. “I did.”

Dora then looked back at me, holding my face gently. “You do not need to be afraid darling. I will take good care of you and also care for the babies. For now, we can call them our babies.”

I forced another fake smile and replied to her. “Yeah...”

I seriously could not wait to escape from this place! I felt so uncomfortable here.

She smiled sweetly at me. “Tomorrow is our wedding ceremony, I would love you to attend our wedding and...” Before I could reject it, she quickly added. “You are not allowed to say no. I really want you there.” She pinched my cheeks playfully.

Xavier looked unwilling about the idea but Dora’s behavior made him agree.

Only if he knew that I had no wish to attend. I did not even want to stay close to him.

Dora pulled me away from my thoughts. “Don’t worry, I will send your dress tomorrow. Please come, it would make me very happy.”

“Okay,” I forced out another smile.

She waved at me while holding Xavier’s hand. “Come on baby, see you tomorrow.”

As they walked away, the weight of my situation slowly crashed over me while I stared after them in fear. Then Xavier turned back, throwing me a look that made my heart jump.

At that moment, fear gripped me tightly. The second he looked away, relief washed through me because in the end, the babies would still be born dead just like before.

I hated that I became happy about the pregnancy even for one second and hated even more that I forgot about my terrible fate.

Still, none of that mattered. The only thing important to me was leaving this place and making sure I never met Xavier again.

  • The Rogue King's Breeding Contract    THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING

Elena's POV FIVE WEEKS LATER Since that encounter with Xavier, I hadn’t laid my eyes on him as I remained restricted to chambers where I was not permitted to leave until the pregnancy examination results were released. Inside the chambers where I was kept, every necessity was made available to me. Things like meals, outfits, and snacks but the only problem was that I wasn’t permitted access to phones in order to prevent me from contacting the outside world. Even so, I was relieved that all this would soon come to an end and I would finally gain freedom from this cage. My sole hope was that Xavier would remain true to his promise and after the pregnancy examination results were released today, I would be permitted to leave exactly as he had vowed. Dropping onto the sofa, sorrow weighed heavily upon me as I rubbed my palms across my flat stomach before releasing a frustrated sigh. My thoughts drifted back to my discussion with Dr. James and her statement about how I would n

  • The Rogue King's Breeding Contract    A weak Lycan?!

CHAPTER ONE Xavier's POV The moment my eyes collided with hers, my heart faltered immediately. Standing above the young lady positioned before me, her hazel eyes shimmered with fear as her shoulders dropped and she trembled, retreating backward with every stride that I made toward her. The servants hurried out of the chamber with their heads bowed, leaving me with the woman who looked as if she wanted the ground to swallow her. Examining her closely with eyes devoid of warmth, I started doubting whether she was truly a formidable Lycan like I had been informed. The more I observed her, the more I realized that there was nothing extraordinary about her. The Lycans were recognized for carrying this intimidating aura around them and that was the primary reason I hated their existence! But concerning her, she appeared nervous and frightened and I was on the verge of sending her back to the prison when my attention shifted to the tattooed marking around her wrist that read ‘Besti

  • The Rogue King's Breeding Contract    From Fry Pan To Fire

Elena's P.O.VI began to hear voices. Strange voices. Voices that seemed to be laced with fear. I felt pain crack through my head as if it was hit by a stone. My eyes blinked repeatedly before they could balance with the view around me and a groan escaped my mouth. My nostrils were attacked by an awful and putrid smell, and the murmurs and screams around jerked me back to reality. Hovering my gaze around where I was, I managed so hard to know the hell was going on and most importantly, what I was doing here. I became shocked when I saw young women with tangled hair and torn clothes, their faces devoid of enthusiasm. My sleepy eyes shifted to their hands and that was the moment I knew the hell I had fallen into. My eyes widened in disbelief when I realized that their hands were tied together with their legs and to make matters worse, I was trapped in the same condition as them. Fear gripped me. I squeezed my eyes shut, attempting to pull myself out of the nightmare that I had lande

Elena's POV“My Luna, I'm so sorry to say this……” the pack’s doctor trailed, his face completely clasped with something lying between sorrow and sympathy, “You can no longer give birth again, your womb has been damaged.” What?! My lips parted in utter shock as his words struck through my mind. Time seemed to come to a halt and it felt like the room was rolling with the doctor's shocking words resonating in the background. Or maybe I was the one hearing another thing or maybe this was just a nightmare. “My Luna, are you even listening to me at all?” The doctor snapped me out of my thoughts, evidence that this was real. The reality of what was unfolding to me clasped my mind as I gazed deep into the doctor's eyes, causing fear to lay deep into my stomach as tears began to stream down my eyes. “This can't be happening. No!!” A sharp cry tore from my mouth. I was supposed to be discharged from the hospital today and I came to ask him when I could start having a child again because,
