Kiara Robertson's pov

Snarling, I was ripped from Nathan as Devan whipped me around, then slammed me against his hard chest.

“You let her escape! I should be the one keeping her by my side.”

“What are you doing, Dev?! You're holding her too tightly, and she is mine,” Nathan stated, causing me to furrow my brow and jerk away from Devan.

“I am NOBODY'S plaything,” I hissed bitterly, then added threateningly, “If you keep grabbing me, I'm going to kiss you.”

Huffing, Devan snapped, “I'd like to see you try, little lady.”

Grinning, I reached up, grabbed him forcibly by the back of the neck, and planted a hot one on his mouth.

My eyes widened at the fangs he had inside his mouth. Their presence confused me as he attempted to deepen the kiss, but I shoved him back.

“Why do you have permanent fangs?” I questioned sternly.

Hearing laughter, I glanced at Nathan with confusion.

“Devan is a hybrid and a blood drinker,” he snickered while I screwed my face and cursed.

“He is like me with a father like Soren?!” I growled.

“No, I am nothing like you,” he said in disgust.

Crossing my arms, I groaned miserably as he started draping the damn silver around me again.

Hissing at the burn, I was surprised to see Nathan giving me a sympathetic look.

“Go back and get the vehicle, and we can head to the next state and stay on the Waning Moon pack lands,” Devan ordered Nathan.

Creasing his brow, Nathan snorted and said, “Do you think bringing her there is wise?”

Frustrated, I stood there eyeing them both in disbelief and spat as I pointed between them, “You're a hybrid, and he is a Vaewolf, yet neither of you was treated as such by Alpha. I don't care if you're his son. None of it makes sense! He HATED me!”

Devin furrowed his brow, then glared at his best friend.

“You are a Vaewolf? Do you have two mates then?” Devan questioned angrily.

With a flushed face, Nathan looked super pale all of a sudden as he nodded slowly.

His words were quiet as he said, “Yeah, I have two mates, but I'm not gay so…”

Covering my gasp with my fingers, I looked at him and said, “It's Devan, isn't it?”

His red eyes met mine, and I could see the agony within them and the truth as well.

“You are with me because I am your second mate?!” Devan asserted and shoved Nathan backward.

Seeing my window to escape I shook off the silver chain then stepped back into the trees as they started fighting.

“Stay, maybe they'll get down and dirty,” Raksha chuckled, and I curled my lip and shook my head as I ran into the woods and away from the shouting men.

“If they keep it up, the cops will pull over,” I said as I took off running once my strength returned fully. That sucked about silver; it drained my kind, but luckily I recharged quickly.

I reached Granger just when the sun was starting to rise.

I was exhausted and scanned the small Main Street for help-wanted signs and a place to lay my head.

“You need to hurry before those two doorknobs come driving through here,” Morgana hissed, and I pinched my mouth at seeing a thrift store beside a coffee shop.

“I think I will have a coffee, count the cash I have, then go to the thrift store for some new-to-me clothes,” I murmured.

Seeing the open sign flipped over at the entrance, I quickened my pace to the coffee shop.

Once inside, I asked for the restroom and went in to clean myself up quickly.

Looking at my reflection, I practiced smiling without showing my fangs and grinned slightly at mastering it.

Going to the counter, I ordered a small black coffee and thanked the worker with a perfect grin.

Taking a seat, I watched the road outside as I drank.

"Shame you don't know what those two were driving,” my wolf huffed as I tied my hair up into a messy bun. Hearing a speeding car, I asked the worker if there was a rear exit and got up when she nodded.

As I rushed to the back, I grabbed a pastry from a baking sheet and headed to the door while shoving it into my mouth.

Devan and Nathan weren't going to have an easy time hunting me, I thought with determination.

Watching them park and head into the coffee shop, I crushed the empty paper cup I held.

“Why do they want me so badly? There are much worse rogues on the loose than me,” I huffed.

“Well, sweetie, you are their mate, so that might make a difference,” both of them chimed in my head, making me shudder as I tossed the crumbled cup into the dumpster.

Seeing a flash of darkness, I was lifted into the air and started swinging.

“Settle yourself, Kiara! We have decided to help you instead of taking you back to the pack,” Devan asserted, making me freeze.

“Why?” I inquired, and he smiled.

“Because what you said made sense. My father should have thrown out Nathan and told me I was worthless for being a hybrid. I want to discover why he didn't and also why he vehemently hates Vaewolves.”

Confused, I eyed him and Nathan suspiciously but eventually nodded when I realized he was being sincere.

“Okay, buy me some clothes then,” I demanded, and he shrugged.

“So did you two confess your undying love to one another?” I asked teasingly, and they both immediately said no in unison, making me laugh.

Feeling a hand run to my lower back, I turned to see Nathan standing next to me and gasped when he placed a tender kiss on my cheek while Devan kissed the other side.

“I'm going to teach you how to be a good Vaewolf and hide one of your cryptids so you aren't caught by hunters,” Nathan asserted.

“Why are you both going to help me?”

Gesturing toward Devan, the Alpha's son said, “I have always liked you, Kiara, even though your attitude sucks, but I questioned my dad about why he was always punishing you and the others like you. I know I was an asshole when I was younger, but trust me, you have filled out nicely.”

He cupped his chest mimicking my breasts, and I rolled my eyes.

“Let's go to the thrift store,” I commented and headed down the alley to the street

Poking my back, I glanced at Devan.

“Did you happen to rob us because all of our cash is missing?”

Raksha and Morgana were humming in my head and fighting with each other.

“What if they are playing you?”

Chewing on my bottom lip, I told them not to worry since I trusted no one anyway.

Kiara Robertson's pov Tossed around in the backseat while Adrian drove recklessly down the gravel road through Devan's pack lands, I tried again to reach my mates and beasts. I was met with complete silence yet again and figured the drug he had given me had severed our connection. He pulled over, got out, and tossed something into the edge of the woods. I heard him laugh insanely. He then opened the rear door to force a vile of liquid down my throat. Holding my lower jaw down, he poured the bitter contents into my mouth. “It will break the bonds you have with those two losers, and then I can place my mark and remain the Vaewolf king!” He snickered cruelly. Feeling a burning sensation spread across my chest, a painful sound expelled from my throat as tears rolled down my cheeks. My mate's bonds were broken, and I was once again on my own. Oh, I was going to kill this bastard once given the chance, I thought bitterly. Shoving me back, the door slammed before Adrian retur

Nathan Hill's pov After draining Devan's liquor reserves, I told him that I was heading to my room. “Did you check on our prisoner?” Furrowing my brow, I snorted rudely and informed him that I released the wretched woman and sent her back to her parents. “You did what?!” “I unchained her…” Running his hand down his face, Devan hissed, “That conniving bitch will go after Kiara…who is ALONE upstairs, and, in case you failed to notice, there aren't any guards in here, and staff has left for the night,” he exhaled slowly just as my eyes met Ms. Blackwood hurrying down the stairs. With a worried frown, she said, “I saw Kiara with some red fur lycan holding a gun. They were headed down the hall.” “SON OF A BITCH!” Devan asserted as I raced up the stairs to follow their scent. Following it outside, I strained my eyes to scan the darkness. Hearing heavy footsteps, I ran toward them and saw Isabella's lycan carrying a bag. “Isabella! What did you do with Kiara?!” Shift

Kiara Robertson's pov After cleaning myself, I fell into bed, exhausted and mortified with my wolf for having me tell Devan she wanted to mate with his wolf. The sound of the shower lulled me to sleep. I was fast asleep when I was awakened by something cold and sharp pressed to my throat. Lifting my hand to brush it away, I was met by a furry arm and opened my eyes to see a mop of reddish fur connected to a handful of sharp, clawed fingers at my throat. It was none other than Isabella's lycan. “Why are you here? How?!” She laughed insanely. “Nathan released me and told me to go back to my parents. Luckily for me, I ran into a handsome noble man at the end of the driveway who has an interest in you,” she informed me with a grin. “Adrian? Good Goddess,” I mumbled while rolling my eyes, then growled, “Why are you threatening me with your claws?” Her lip curled up as she answered, “I am staying with Alpha and will be his Luna.” Exhaling deeply and registering that I was alone i

Devan McIntosh pov “If you need any help. I'd be happy to join you both,” Nathan stated, and I eyed him warily. “No, our first time will just be her and me. However, you can ask the staff to prepare a room for Ms Blackwood, then escort her there,” I asserted firmly, smiling nervously at Kiara. I had desired her for so long that I was afraid my performance would be lackluster, as it had been before. “Do not ejaculate over yourself this time,” Hades commented in my head, making me rub my eyes from the lingering embarrassment. Nudging my side, Kiara asked me what was going on in my head. "You appear troubled," she said with a curious smile. I looked at her lovely face smiling at me and told her that my thoughts were making me hard, and she giggled at me. “Would it be vulgar of me to say I am growing wet thinking about you between my thighs?” Hissing at her, I shook my head before I stood, scooped her up in my arms, then carried her to my room. She laughed the entire w

  • The Rogue Vaewolf    Chapter 18

Kiara Robertson's pov Loud, hearty laughter erupted from Natalie Blackwood as the Vaewolf king groveled, saying it wasn't fair and that he should be king. With my brow still furrowed, I eyed Natalie and asked her what was so funny. Sobering, she said, “You are the Vaewolf Queen, and you decide your king. You have basically unthroned Adrian. Now you must choose which of your mates to reign beside you.” Startled by her words, I shook my head to focus on my thoughts. “Who was my father and why am I automatically the queen of all Vaewolves?” I inquired in disbelief. Gesturing toward the chair, she told me to have a seat and said she would be happy to fill me in. I watched her as she began. “Your father wasn't a high royal. It was his queen mother. In our society, the females are the rulers and are gifted by the moon Goddess.” Confused, I asked curiously what her relationship was to my dad. After I asked her, she gave me a grin. “I was your father's first mate, but unli

  • The Rogue Vaewolf    Chapter 17

Kiara Robertson's pov After cleaning myself and taking a quick sponge bath, I looked in the mirror and saw Devan's mark on my neck, opposite Nathan's. A light rap at the door and Nathan's voice caught my attention. “Come in,” I called out. Handing me a man's shirt and a pair of jeans, I gave him a mocking chuckle. “There weren't any women's clothes,” he sighed disparagingly. “It's okay. These are more comfortable for me.” Hearing huffing, I glanced over at Devan, hyperventilating. “She needs to be dressed in finery, Nate! Her relatives are KINGS AND QUEENS! Go take one of Isabella's dresses; there should be several in my father's wardrobe.” Ignoring them both, I walked to the window and watched a woman, then an attractive middle-aged man, being escorted out of the vehicle, which made me wonder if they were my relatives. The man's eyes turned toward me as if by instinct, and I swallowed uncomfortably at the way his mouth began to curl upwards, and his eyes glowed b
