Luis’ scent was all over me. I didn’t notice it until I was safely tucked away in Six’s apartment but as soon as I did I felt disgusted.

The thought of having Luis’ scent on my skin made me feel vile and tainted all at the same time, it made me sick. What was even more horrifying was the fact that it hadn’t even been me who had noticed the stench, it was Maryan.

I felt absolutely mortified when she pointed it out. How could I, a werewolf with an acute sense of smell, have not noticed it? Sure I could blame it on the fact that I had been out in public and the smell was masked because of the city but to not notice it when I reached Six’s apartment was just wrong.

Everything from the couch in the living room to the closet in his bedroom smelt of clover and wood, it was Six’s scent, and now here I was tainting it.

After I started throwing a fuss about the way I smelt Maryan thankfully knew what to do about it. She stayed long enough to show me how to use Six’s rainmaker, or shower as she

Or at least that is what I tried to do but my feet weren’t taking me anywhere. My legs were moving across the ground as fast as they could but the monster was still behind me and the scenery wasn’t changing. I could feel the last shred of sanity slowly slip away as fear pumped its way into my veins. What was going on?I glanced over my shoulder and realized that the monster was no longer there. Instead of a tall black creepy shadow there was something much worse. It was her. She was dressed in all black besides the small silver moon amulet that she wore around her neck, symbolizing her goddesshood. As if she knew that I was staring at it she instantly raised her hand up and grasped it in her fist. From there my eyes traveled up from her neck to her cold black eyes and I was instantly filled with a feeling of dread. What was he going to do to me?Her dark laugh filled the night air as she slowly made his way over to me. Once she reached me she did something odd. She kneeled down beside

“Kayah!” Six screamed at me while shaking my body back and forth on the couch. “Ayah, it’s just a dream. Wake up!”When my eyes landed on Six’s hard face and I instantly started screaming again but this time it was louder. The fear and distress was clear in my actions once I started scratching and kicking at him, trying my hardest to get him away from me. He’s trying to kill me. He’s trying to kill me. The thought just kept repeating itself over and over again in my head until I believed that he really was.“Get away from me.” I screamed at him.I could see the confusion and pain that started to play behind his green eyes but none of it registered to me because in my mind I was still living my nightmare. I managed to get him to loosen his hold on one of my arms and knocked him in the jaw with my elbow. The hit didn’t even faze him. Six brought my arms in between our bodies before wrapping his own arms around my back and holding on tightly. I screamed and squirmed against him, trying d

After coming to the conclusion that I would search for some answers about the secret of Luis and Six as soon as we got to the bar, I decided that I would use this time to snoop around the apartment. Since Six was now well into his shower I would have the freedom to do as I pleased and not have to worry about him catching me. I still felt a little guilty about taking the whole secret matter into my own hands but seeing as how Six wouldn’t tell me about her and given what happened the last time he didn’t tell me something important; it felt justified. The kitchen didn’t look too prosperous and the living room was pretty barren besides the couch, coffee table, and TV, so I started my search in a more personal place; his bedroom. Since Six was pretty occupied I felt no dire need to quit myself or be stealthy in any way, instead I just walked right on over to his bedroom door and opened it. My hand lingered on the door knob once it was opened and I stood in the door frame a moment longer t

Carefully I placed the picture back in the nightstand but this time I left it face up. Even though I was a ball of mixed up emotions, and maybe was a little insane at the moment, I was still human. The memory of Lunar or Hailey whatever the bitch did and the love that they shared was a part of Six and he was a part of me, so in turn I had to accept them all and get over it. With my new resolve all figured out I slowly closed the drawer.Right after it was shut the bathroom door was slammed open. I jumped at the sound of Six’s roar echoing through the apartment,“KAYAH!”Frightened that he might catch me snooping around in his bedroom I frantically began to look around the room. His footsteps shook the floorboards as he started to make his way to the room and with nothing to hide behind in his room I ended up taking a seat on the unmade bed. As soon as my butt hit the comforter Six had wedged himself through the door.I could feel my face heat up at the sight of him. He had on a pair o

I lifted my arms up and wrapped them around his thick neck. There was nothing more that I could say that would help calm him down and holding him was the only thing I could think of to do. There was a heavy thud as Six fell to his knees and quickly gathered him into his chest. My butt slid from the bed and onto his thighs as he cradled me. Six buried his nose in my hair and took a few deep inhales that would both help to calm him down and check my scent for any changes.I knew that his wolf wouldn’t allow him to let me go until I reeked of him so I snuggled up closer and got comfortable. I could feel the warm little butterflies fluttering around in my chest as we sat there in silence but I knew that feeling wouldn’t last long. I might have the affection of Six’s wolf but when it came to the man I was still in the dog house.A few moments later, when Six was finally satisfied with my scent, he released me. When his hands snuck their way under my armpits and lifted me up off of him I f

I hadn’t exactly thought things through very well when I stomped ahead of Six and made my way to the bar by myself, but it was obviously Six’s fault for making me so mad. If he could just trust me a little bit more and maybe treat me more like his mate rather than some flea bitten mongrel then maybe I wouldn’t have carelessly flung myself into the bar. And maybe, just maybe I wouldn’t have rammed into the one person I had prayed to avoid. February.Without Six behind me for support I ended up falling flat on my butt. February’s head snapped in my direction with a low hiss coming from her thin lips. “Watch where you’re going.”I felt a shiver run down the length of my spin as my eyes met with her flashing silver ones. As soon as I noticed her silver eyes I wanted to give into my wolf instincts and get the heck out of there because February and I weren’t exactly on the best of terms seeing as how I was now Alpha of her pack, and if I remembered correctly I was pretty sure that she wan

I touched my other hand to his upper arm and patted it reassuringly. “I’m sure.”Six’s body slowly started to relax under my touch and I could feel his gaze start to soften on me as well. His eyes returned to those perfect brilliant green ones that I adored so much. I couldn’t help but stare into them for a moment and let those sweet loving emotions that I had been keeping at bay inside of me run rampant. Six must have been sharing a similar feeling as well because his hand crept up to where mine was resting and he squeezed it gently.“Are you two mated?” Both of us snapped out of our trance at the sound of February’s voice. How had we forgotten that she was there?Six let his hand fall away from me before shrugging away from me and taking a step towards her. “What was that?”February’s gaze turned into a hard glare as she looked between the both of us. “She’s your mate isn’t she?” She snarled in my direction.Six step over to the side to block me from her hateful glare. “She is

February bowed her head even lower before lifting it up and retreating into the crowd. I looked around to see a bunch of silver eyes staring back at me but slowly they flashed back to their original colors and the pack started to livin up again.Six’s hand landed on my right shoulder and he used it to yank me back into his chest, once there I felt his warm breath tickle the back of my ear. “You shouldn’t put your life at stake so easily.”I let out a sigh. “If I hadn’t then she might not have backed down.”“Then I would have put her in her place.”I looked over my shoulder at him. There were no gold flecks in his eyes so I knew that I was talking strictly to his human half. “We don’t need to do anything. You know, we need more wolves to side with us. And making them out to be enemies is the least thing I can think of right now.”Six hooded. “But I’m serious. I would really put her in her place.”I heaved a sigh. “As my beta or as my mate?”His lips formed into a firm line and I k

The hospital room was too quiet. The only sound was the soft beeping of the machine beside me and the slow ticking of the clock on the wall. I couldn’t move much. My chest was still aching badly. Every breath felt like it might tear me open again.I lay still, watching the ceiling, trying not to think. Then I heard the door open.My hands tightened under the blanket as I smelled who it was. Axel. He walked in, pushing a cart of food. His footsteps were calm, too calm for my liking. I didn’t dare look at him right away. I stared at the wall instead. My heart was beating faster. I didn’t know if he was angry. I didn’t know if he was going to yell. Or worse.“You’re awake,” he said, his voice quiet but firm.I nodded a little. My throat felt dry.He moved the cart closer and uncovered the plates. Warm steam rose into the air. It smelled like soup and bread. I haven't eaten since... I couldn’t remember. But the sight of food didn’t comfort me.“You need to eat,” he said. “Your wound won’

The next few scenes were me being punched, kicked and slapped to almost make me pass out. My throat was already hurting due to the constant scream of vegging and leaving me alone. My chest started to bleed again and it stained the oversized white shirt Axel had given me. My screams were now replaced with loud sobs that made my lungs ache. I looked up in fear as the unknown man advanced towards me. He took a deep breath through his nose, and a wide smile spread across his face. Slowly, he walked towards me with deliberate and smooth steps. With each step he took, the malicious grin on his face got wider. I had scooted myself into a corner to try and escape his gaze and ferocity, and as he came to stand in front of me I tried pleading once more. "Please. I am begging you. Just leave me alone. You don't have to do this!" My words came out as sobs. "Shut up! You’re just a slave! You do not talk to me like that!" With another deep breath through his nose, he crouched down next to me a

I woke up to sunlight shining in my face, and the sound of a girl screaming. The sound was excruciatingly loud and sent chills up my spine. Above the screaming, I could hear Axel’s voice shouting. I couldn't make out the words, but he sounded furious and excited. The screaming continued for about another minute, until it slowly died down. The entire time this was happening, I sat cowering in the corner of my room, fearing I would be next to be screaming like that. But I made my decisions…to play safe..After what seemed like an eternity, I heard a door slam and footsteps coming my way. I cringed back in fear and huddled against the wall. The freshly stitched wounds on my chest reminded me of Axel’s brutality, and I didn't want to see what he was like when he was mad. My door was pushed open to reveal-of course- an infuriated Axel. He looked at my small frame huddled in the corner farthest from him, and smiled. I felt no comfort from his expression, only more fear. He stepped forward

I kept my head down and watched his feet as he approached me. Before I knew it, he was right next to me, lifting my chin upwards to look at his face. I tried to keep my eyes averted from his gaze and stop the tears that threatened to come again. "Look at me." His hot breath growled into my face.I slowly brought my eyes up to meet his. They were a deep, voidless black. This was the first good look I had gotten at his eyes and I hoped it would be my last. His black hair hung to the side with a few pieces escaping to fall on his forehead. A square jaw held light pink lips that always seemed to be smirking at me. His face was completely devoid of emotion, even though he was smirking. His eyes held nothing but emptiness and he looked at me as weak. It was terrifying being this close to him, and I could tell he knew I was uncomfortable. His hand grew tighter on my chin as I struggled desperately to free my head from his grip. I was beyond scared and wanted to be as far away from him as I

The envelope was brown. It doesn’t have a receiver or sender name.I should have felt it then, the warning, the poison in the air.Curious, I opened it anyway. The photograph slid out with a whisper.Seven’s face hit me first and beside him was a familiar face, too familiar, his arm wrapped around her. Hailey. The Moon Goddess. Her lips curved in a smirk so triumphant it made me sick. And between them was a baby. My baby.I staggered back a step, as if the floor itself had betrayed me. The little boy nestled in Hailey’s arms was unmistakable, the soft curl of his hair, the tiny birthmark on his cheek, a mark I knew because I had kissed it a thousand times. His smile, the one he used to give me, now aimed at her. At them. The baby I thought was kidnapped. My knees buckled. The pain wasn’t sharp. It was deep, an endless splitting inside my chest, like I was being hollowed out from the inside. Seven didn’t even look guilty. He looked proud. As if he belonged there, next to her, instead o

  • The Rogue's Little Mate   Chapter 154: Proposal

I awoke in my stall on the bed. Light was streaming through the small window high above me. The ferals outside were noisy and I could hear that they were tearing something apart. The sound was like squelching, like flesh tearing from bones or I don’t even want to know it. But because I was freaking curious, I stood up, despite the protest of my chest and looked at the small hole in my room. And there it was. A body was torn apart, the ferals were fighting, playing tag, trying to have a large portion.“So, who was it again?” I heard someone speak up. “The other man that the king found three weeks ago,” a man said. “Oh, the one who kept on resisting?”“Yes. Unfortunately, the king’s patience ran out and he fed him to his dog.”“Well, all of those who resist him always end up being fed to these beasts,” the other man replied, which scared me. Axel must have moved me from the floor to my bed and I was glad I was asleep for that. The pain of walking or being carried would have been uni

My mouth instantly began to water. He saw me staring at his hands and laughed aloud this time. "Oh, is my little mate? Hungry?" All I could do was nod intently. It had been days since I had anything to eat or drink, and the result of that was starting to weigh upon me."Well, why don't you come over to me and get it then?" Axel looked at me with danger in his eyes. He knew I refused, he’ll just going to do what he wanted and if I talk back, Fenrir will have mercy on me. Once I realized he was serious and the only way for me to get the piping hot bowl of newly cooked meat was to walk over to him, I almost screamed in frustration. He put me through it all, he tortured me and now I'm just supposed to walk it off?! Unbelievable. Despite what I thought though, he wasn't going to give me any food until I came over to him. I began to muster up all my strength and courage even if the thing on my chest hurts like hell. It didn’t dry up or at least close. In fact it went deeper in my flesh,

Jefferson led me back to my room. “I’m sorry,” I said, almost in a whisper.Jefferson halted and turned around to me. “Yeah, whatever. It’s too late,” he replied and assumed walking. “Just to let you know, Axel doesn't have plans on letting you live for too long. I shouldn’t tell you this but well, maybe I thought you deserve to know.”When we reached my room, he opened the door and I entered inside before.him slamming the door and locking it. Inside, I saw that the haystack was gone and replaced by a bed. I laid there for at least an hour. My eyes grew heavy and exhaustion threatened to overtake me, but I refused to fall asleep. I needed to get out of this torture house and back to my pack. How that would happen- I had no idea. I hoped beyond hope that Axel wouldn't be the one to come back and get me. If I saw him again I might pass out, just out of pure terror. He scared me beyond what I could handle right now, and I couldn't handle very much. With every second that went by I

Before I could process his change of mood, he had my wrists bound in silver handcuffs above my head. I hissed but I still tried to bring them down but a clink of metal and the sensation of being burned without fire prevented me from doing that. Axel had my arms chained above my head to where I was already tiptoeing. I could barely reach the floor. A smirk was now on his face as he stared at me, helpless. I let a whimper escape my lips as all courage drained from my body. Axel only smiled more at that, taking delight in my pain and fear. He now paraded around the room, making his way towards the hot coals in the fire pit. He then tossed more charcoal. “It seemed that you still didn’t know what you were here?” He looked at me expectedly to answer the question. Of course I knew. I knew because he already told me but I pretended I didn’t. “I didn’t.” I tried to lie and spit back at him, but my words only came out as a whimper. Axel laughed at that but didn’t reach his eyes.
