Ethan

I descended the stairs, greeting the staff with brief nods as I made my way through the pack house. My mind was elsewhere, buzzing with thoughts of the past days, the weight of it all pressing on me. When I finally stepped outside, the crisp air hit my skin, grounding me in the present. I turned left and headed toward the nearest tree line, the familiar pull of the forest calling me. I needed a release, something to clear my head, and only one thing could do that.

I stripped off my clothes, folding them neatly at the base of a tree before shifting. The change came quickly, bones cracking and reforming, fur sprouting as my wolf took over. It had been too long since I let him out, and I could feel his joy, his freedom, through our bond. The sensation was immediate - a rush of energy, raw and untamed. I sprinted through the forest, the trees blurring past as I let my instincts take over. My paws pounded the earth as I raced beyond the lake, heading for the farthest corner of the property where the oracle’s cottage had stood for centuries.

By the time I reached Amber’s home, the sun had risen higher in the sky, casting a golden glow over the ancient stone walls. I shifted back, feeling the familiar pull of my bones returning to their human form, and grabbed the towel that was waiting for me on her doorstep. Wrapping it around my waist, I pushed open the door and stepped inside.

Amber was seated at her dining table, sipping tea as if she had been expecting me all along. She didn’t look up, but I could sense her awareness of my presence.

“So, you’ve finally found her, Alpha,” she said softly, her voice carrying the weight of something deeper.

I stood there for a moment, trying to find the right words. “Thanks to you. I would never have found her if you hadn’t predicted her location.”

Amber’s eyes flicked up to meet mine, and a small, knowing smile curved her lips. “You may think that, but mates are meant to find each other. If not for my prediction, you would have found her in another way. The moon goddess guides us all.”

I exhaled, running a hand through my hair. “I know. But still, your help… it means more than you know.” I paused, my thoughts drifting back to the club. Something had been bothering me since that night. “I saw you talking to her before I met her. What were you doing there?”

Amber set her cup down gently, her expression thoughtful. “I was curious,” she admitted. “Curious about the woman who is destined to be your Luna. The Luna of the prophecy.”

Her words sent a shiver down my spine. The prophecy - something that had haunted me for years. I couldn’t help but wonder if it had already begun to unfold.

Silence stretched between us before I spoke again. “Do you think Andromeda knows who she is by now?”

Amber’s face tightened slightly, her eyes darkening. “I can’t say for sure, but the appearance of one of her minions at the club was no coincidence. It’s a bad sign. A warning.”

A low growl escaped my throat at the thought of Andromeda. The witch who had destroyed Rosemary’s family. My anger toward her burned deep, but there was something else, too - a nagging fear. “Do you hate her for what she did? For all the lives she ruined?”

Amber’s gaze softened, but there was sadness there. “You know how I feel. I rebelled against her, yes, but she’s still my sister. As much as I despise what she’s become, I can only hope that someday she’ll find redemption.”

I shook my head. “It’s too late for that. She’s too far gone. The prophecy says Rosemary will bring her downfall. But it doesn’t change the fact that she caused the death of an entire pack.”

“I know that, Alpha,” Amber whispered. “She will face justice, one way or another.”

We sat in heavy silence for a while, both of us lost in thought. Finally, Amber broke the quiet. “How are things going with Rosemary?”

I sighed, the weight of her name settling on my chest. “Nathaniel had talked about her for years. I had my suspicions that she was my mate, but I couldn’t be sure. Not until I saw her with my own eyes. From the way Nate spoke about her… I think I’ve been in love with her for some time, even before I knew she was mine.”

Amber’s gaze sharpened, but she said nothing, waiting for me to continue.

“It’s hard,” I admitted, my voice dropping. “It’s hard not to just… claim her. Whenever I see her, all I want to do is hold her, kiss her, protect her. But I know I can’t. Not yet. She’s overwhelmed. She even fainted when I told her everything, and I can’t blame her. If I tell her she’s my mate now, she’ll run. I know it.”

Amber’s expression softened again, sympathy in her eyes. “When do you want me to reverse the spell on her memories? And her wolf?”

I thought about it for a moment, the prophecy weighing on my mind. “We have time. The prophecy speaks of the Luna’s 25th birthday. That gives us a year to prepare.”

Amber nodded slowly, understanding. “Patience will be key. You’re right to wait.”

I stood, ready to leave, but there was a lingering tension between us. Amber averted her gaze, but I could still feel the weight of her emotions pressing against me. Our past lingered between us, a ghost of what once was.

It had never been more than something casual, something we both understood. But now, that chapter was closing. For good.

“I’m in love with Rosemary.” My voice was quiet but firm, final. I stepped closer, letting the truth settle between us like a heavy stone. “But I’ll always cherish what we had.”

Amber’s lips parted, her breath catching as she processed my words. Before she could respond, I leaned in, capturing her lips in a kiss. Not out of desire, not to reignite something that had long since faded, but as a goodbye. A farewell wrapped in the press of mouths and the lingering warmth of a touch that once meant something.

She stiffened at first, her body tense beneath mine. But then she softened, her lips parting slightly, allowing the moment to stretch just long enough for us to understand it for what it was - closure.

But as we pulled apart, something flickered in her eyes. A challenge. A quiet, desperate plea for one last moment before it all slipped away.

“What are you doing?” she whispered, her breath hot against my lips.

I cupped her jaw, my thumb brushing over her flushed skin. “Ending this properly,” I murmured, before sealing my mouth over hers again.

This time, it wasn’t gentle.

My hands tangled in her clothes, and with a sharp tug, fabric tore under my grip. She gasped, her nails raking over my skin as I pushed her back against the wall, pinning her beneath me. My lips trailed down her neck, biting, sucking, marking her like I had done so many times before - but there was no fire, no burning hunger. Even as I kissed her breasts, even as she arched against me, begging for more, my mind drifted elsewhere.

To her. Rosemary.

Amber’s hands fisted in my hair, pulling me closer, guiding me where she needed me most. I didn’t hesitate. I spread her legs wider, feeling the heat of her against my member as I pressed against her entrance. Her breath hitched, her thighs trembling as she whispered my name.

And then, in one swift motion, I slammed inside her.

She cried out, her head falling back against the wall, fingers digging into my shoulders as I thrust into her, hard and deep. The stretch of her around me was familiar, her body welcoming, but my mind refused to stay in the moment.

It was wrong. It should have felt good, it used to feel good. But now, all I could think about was how she wasn’t Rosemary. How this wasn’t the scent I craved, the taste I longed for, the touch I ached to possess.

I closed my eyes, burying my face in the crook of Amber’s neck as I pounded into her, chasing a release that felt impossibly out of reach. My hands gripped her ass, lifting her higher, pressing her harder against the cold stone wall as my hips snapped against hers.

She moaned my name, the sound needy, desperate, but it wasn’t what I wanted. I wanted to hear Rosemary’s moan. I wanted to hear her whimper beneath me, to feel her legs wrap around my waist, to taste her gasps against my tongue. Amber tightened around me, her body shuddering as she came, her walls squeezing my cock in pulsing waves. But it still wasn’t enough. I wasn’t there. I wasn’t with her.

My grip on Amber’s hips bruised as I kept moving, my rhythm growing erratic, my mind spiraling deeper into fantasy. I pictured fiery red hair spread across my pillows, gray eyes blown wide with pleasure. I imagined Rosemary’s breathless cries, the way she would cling to me as I fucked her senseless. My name, spilling from her lips. My hands, gripping her thighs. Her walls milking my cock as I lost myself inside her.

And that was what did it. Pleasure tore through me like a wildfire, my release crashing into me with a force that stole my breath. I groaned, my body tensing as I spilled inside Amber, my mind still lost in the image of Rosemary, in the way I wished this moment felt.

As soon as it was over, the weight of it crashed down on me like a landslide.

I pulled out, stepping back as Amber slumped against the wall, breathless and spent. But as she looked up at me, something in her gaze told me she knew. She knew I had been somewhere else. With someone else.

The silence between us was deafening.

We cleaned up without speaking, the air heavy with something I didn’t want to acknowledge. I dressed quickly, running a hand through my hair before glancing back at her one last time.

“I hope you find peace, Alpha,” she said softly, her voice barely above a whisper.

I didn’t answer. Instead, I turned and walked away, shifting into my wolf form the moment I stepped outside. The moment my paws hit the earth, I ran, tearing through the trees, the wind whipping against my fur. I ran as fast as I could. But no matter how far I went, no matter how fast I pushed myself, I couldn’t outrun the only thought that mattered. Rosemary.

RosemaryThe following day, I found myself sitting at the breakfast table with Nathaniel and Grace. The soft chatter of pack members filled the room, everyone greeting each other, exchanging pleasantries. My plate of food sat mostly untouched in front of me, but my attention wasn’t on it. I couldn’t stop staring at Ethan, who just walked in.There was something about him, something magnetic. I tried to be discreet, but I knew he noticed how my eyes flicked toward him. I could feel his gaze on me, too, intense and lingering. It was like there was this unspoken tension between us I didn’t understand, and yet, I couldn’t look away.Around us, I could hear pack members murmuring, “Good morning, Alpha,” as they passed by, nodding respectfully in his direction. Ethan took his seat next to Nathaniel, and soon the two of them were deep in conversation, discussing things that, to my surprise, sounded a lot like business.I couldn’t help myself. “Did I hear you guys talking about a company?” I

EthanAfter what I saw in the showers, my chest felt tight with an anger I had no right to feel. I should’ve walked away sooner, should’ve known better than to linger, but the image of Rosemary with someone else, so free, so wild, kept replaying in my mind. She doesn’t know; I reminded myself. She doesn’t feel the bond yet, doesn’t even realize what she means to me, and yet, the jealousy twisted in my gut, hot and irrational. She’s my mate. Mine.I couldn’t get the thought out of my head, even though it was unfair, even though it wasn’t my place to be angry. She didn’t know. How could she? She hadn’t even sensed her wolf yet, and I slept with Amber recently. I had no claim on her. Even so, my wolf growled in frustration, clawing at the edges of my control. I felt like I was on the verge of breaking something, anything, just to release the tension.I was heading up the stairs to the fifth floor, determined to cool off in my room, when a hand suddenly grabbed my shoulder. RosemaryI wasn’t entirely sure what had just happened between Ethan and me, but the moment felt unfinished, as if we had reached some invisible line. Then, he bolted, leaving me there with more questions than answers. When he had come so close, I thought for a moment, hoped, maybe, that he might kiss me. But then he turned away, and the connection between us dissolved as quickly as it had sparked. Was it just the lingering rush of hormones from earlier, or was there something more?Either way, I didn’t want to dwell on it. Not now.Feeling restless, I went back to my room. The weight of everything I’d been through in the past week pressed down on me. It had only been a few days, but it felt like years had passed since my world had been turned upside down. I lay on the bed, mindlessly scrolling through my phone for hours. Eventually, I noticed the missed calls, unread texts - all from Nathaniel, checking in, ensuring I was okay. I glanced at the last message:Headed away to dinner. I’

EthanI woke up just before dawn, the room still wrapped in the soft darkness of early morning. Rosemary lay beside me, her breathing steady, her body relaxed in sleep. For a moment, I just watched her, the peaceful rise and fall of her chest, the way her hair spilled across the pillow like fire. She looked so beautiful, so vulnerable, and it struck me just how much I wanted to protect her - to be the one she trusted, the one she turned to.But I knew what we had done last night had been a mistake. Not because I didn’t want her, Goddess, I wanted her more than anything, but because I hadn’t told her the truth. The truth about the mate bond, about what we were to each other. She didn’t know, and yet, I had crossed a line. My wolf had been pushing me ever since she arrived, demanding that I claim her, that I acknowledge her as mine. The mate bond was too powerful, too overwhelming for either of us to ignore for much longer. And last night, when I looked into her eyes, I couldn’t resist

RosemaryI spent the entire day trying not to think about Ethan, which was apparently much more challenging than it seemed. No matter what I did, no matter how much I wanted to distract myself, my mind kept drifting back to last night. I could still feel his touch, the weight of his body against mine, the way his eyes had burned into me, full of something deeper than I could comprehend.I hung out with Nathaniel most of the day, grateful for his company and the easy distraction he provided. But even then, thoughts of Ethan kept creeping in, unbidden and persistent. It didn’t help when Nathaniel mentioned he’d be heading to the office to help Ethan and wouldn’t be back until late. Just hearing his name made my chest tighten. After Nathaniel left, I wandered around the property aimlessly, my thoughts a mess. I considered finding the girl from the other day, anything to keep my mind occupied, but as I neared the lake, something else caught my attention. A figure moving slowly by the wate

NathanielIt was late when Ethan and I finally returned to the packhouse. The day had been long, filled with pack duties and endless conversations about business, and by the time we parted ways, exhaustion was clawing at me. I watched Ethan climb the stairs to the fifth floor, his figure disappearing into the shadows of the hallway. The sound of his door closing echoed faintly, a small reassurance that he was settled for the night.I lingered for a moment, my heart beating a little faster, my mind already racing ahead to what I was about to do. The fourth floor belonged to me, reserved for the Beta and his family, but tonight, I won’t be staying there.Once I was sure Ethan was out of sight, I moved swiftly. Quietly, I slipped down the stairs and out of the back of the house. The cool night air hit my skin, sharp and refreshing, as I made my way to the woods. I ducked behind a large bush, stripping out of my clothes and hiding them beneath the leaves. The anticipation hummed through m

  • The Rose Luna   Chapter 18

RosemaryThe next few days passed in a blur, a strange mixture of settling in and feeling like I was floating through someone else’s life. Grace was a constant presence, and at that time, I got to know her more deeply. She told me so much about being a werewolf, about living in a pack - the kind of details that made this world feel less like some fantasy I’d stumbled into and more like a reality I was now part of.One of the things that fascinated me most was the mind link between pack members. It was like an invisible thread that connected them all, allowing them to communicate without words. And then there was the fact that the higher-ranking members could project this link to the entire pack at once if needed, especially in times of danger. Grace explained that attacks were rare, but rogue wolves sometimes wandered into their territory. She talked about it so casually, like it was just another part of life, another detail of this world I was slowly beginning to understand. What str

  • The Rose Luna   Chapter 43

EthanI sat beside her hospital bed, my heart pounding in my chest. The cold, sterile atmosphere of the hospital was suffocating. The rhythmic beeping of the machines was the only sound breaking the silence, but all I could focus on was her - Rose, lying there, looking so small, so fragile. This wasn’t her. The woman I knew was a firestorm, full of life and strength. But now, her skin was pale, her lips cracked, and she looked like she was made of glass, ready to shatter at any moment.I leaned forward, brushing a strand of hair from her face. Her skin felt cool to the touch, much too cold. A lump formed in my throat as I struggled to contain the rising fear. I had never felt so helpless. I, the Alpha, the one who always had to be strong, was now at the mercy of fate - waiting, hoping, praying.Where had I gone wrong? How could I not have known? I replayed the last few weeks in my head over and over. Maybe I should have noticed she was more tired than usual. Maybe I should have stoppe

EthanAfter a long, exhausting day in the office, all I wanted was to crawl into bed next to Rose. Being near her had become something I couldn’t live without. Her warmth, her presence - it was all that allowed me to truly rest. But when I knocked on her door, there was no answer. I tried again. Still nothing.A strange unease crept into my chest. I turned the handle and opened the door to find the room cold and dark. A quick glance revealed the impromptu art studio she’d been using was untouched. Something wasn’t right. I decided to wait for her, assuming she’d show up soon, and sat down on the bed, scrolling through work emails on my phone. Slowly, exhaustion won, and I drifted into an uneasy sleep.A while later, I stirred awake. The room was still dark, and her side of the bed remained untouched. Panic started to gnaw at me. A quick glance at my phone told me it was 2 a.m. I tried to link Rose through the pack-link, but there was no response. I tried again. Still nothing. The knot

  • The Rose Luna   Chapter 41

RosemaryIn the early afternoon, I received a mind-link from Dr. Bella asking me to come to the hospital wing. All day, my mind had been spinning with the possibility of being pregnant, and the concept of becoming a mother. The thought terrified me. I had never had a role model for a loving family, and the idea of creating one of my own felt foreign, almost impossible. The doctors had once told me I couldn’t have children, and I had accepted that. It felt like a decision had been made for me, a choice I never had to face. But now? I wasn’t sure if I was more scared or excited - or both.On the way to the infirmary, Ethan caught up with me. I tried to keep things casual, dodging his concern.“I’m just checking this stomach bug,” I said with a forced smile. “Nothing serious.”“Okay, love,” he replied, his eyes soft with concern. “Just let me know if you need anything.”I nodded as he turned and walked toward his office. Watching him disappear, I felt a pang of guilt. When I arrived at t

RosemaryI woke up with the urge to throw up again. Untangling myself from Ethan’s embrace, I quickly ran to the bathroom, feeling my stomach twist violently. After making sure I had emptied everything, I changed into fresh clothes and quietly sneaked out of the room. The air outside was cool, a stark contrast to the heaviness in my mind, and I found myself wandering through the pack’s grounds aimlessly. As I entered the woods, the shadows of the trees stretched before me, illuminated by the soft glow of the moon. The silence of the night was almost comforting as I found a spot by a tree and began to undress. Shifting came quicker now, though the sensation still made my skin feel like it was aflame, and the cracking of my bones was something I hadn’t yet gotten used to. But once I stood on all fours, a sense of freedom surged through me. Being in my wolf form felt like stepping into a part of me I never knew was missing.I started running, the wind rushing past my fur, my senses heigh

EthanAfter parting from the guys, I mind-link Rose to let her know I’m coming to her room. As I open the door, the sound of her throwing up and flushing the toilet greets me. I lean against the bathroom door as she’s rinsing her face.“Are you okay? I thought yesterday was just nerves,” I said gently, concern lacing my voice.“I thought so, too. Probably just a stomach bug,” she replied, her voice weak.“Maybe you should see a pack doctor,” I suggested, trying to hide my worry.“I’ll go if it’s the same tomorrow,” she concedes.I walk over to the bed, sit down, and pat the spot beside me. She joins me, resting her head on my shoulder. There’s something so vulnerable in her right now, and I instinctively wrap an arm around her.“So… did you talk to Nathaniel?” she asked softly.“Yeah, everything’s okay now.”“Good, I’m glad,” she said, relief in her voice.I kiss her forehead gently, enjoying the closeness between us. “I wanted to talk to you about last night. EthanSitting in my office, I focus on the bond with Nathaniel and Dylan, reaching out to them through the pack’s mind-link. Nathaniel arrives first, his posture rigid, clearly bracing for whatever conversation awaits. I can see the weight of guilt pulling at him before he even speaks.“Ethan, I want to apologize,” he starts, but I hold up my hand, cutting him off.“We’ll talk about that later. Right now, I need to know if my mate is in danger.” My tone leaves no room for further discussion.Nathaniel swallows hard, like he wants to say something more, but thinks better of it. Silence falls between us, tense and unspoken. A few minutes later, Dylan arrives, his usual light-hearted energy absent as he sits down.“Well, tell me what you found,” I prompt.Nathaniel takes a breath, gathering his thoughts. “You won’t like it. We went to the murder scene, and it reeked of the minions’ scent. We found out more about the victim, too - he was a rogue, a former pack member in the US. He betraye

But it’s not a scream of pain - it’s something else, something more primal.I turn to her, who’s sitting upright beside me, her eyes glowing with that eerie purple hue that sends shivers down my spine every time. Her lips curled into a slow, satisfied smile.“What happened?” I ask.“She’s awakened,” she said, her voice a low purr. “I can feel her wolf.”I grit my teeth, anticipation flooding through me. “So, why are we waiting? Let’s go get her. We already have the other two.”But she remains calm, her smile fading into something more measured, calculated. “No,” she said softly, her tone almost mocking. “She’s not complete yet. Part of her is still missing.”I huff in frustration, my patience wearing thin. “This b*tch definitely takes her time.”Her eyes flickered toward me, the purple glow intensifying for a moment as she st

You’re going to miss your chance if we don’t move.”I nodded, understanding the urgency, though the tension in the air was thick. We reach Amber’s house, and she’s already outside, standing still, holding a glass bottle in her hand. The gravity of the moment settles on my chest like a weight I can’t shake.“Let’s go. Yeah, a huge yes to both.”Liam stops walking and pulls me into an embrace, his arms wrapping around me like he’s trying to shield me from everything. “Everything will be alright,” he murmured. “You’ll see.”We held each other for a long moment, his warmth steadying me, but eventually, we parted and continued walking toward Amber’s house.
