Adriano.

It was hard keeping my cool while she was talking about how her uncle treated her. It was taking everything inside me not to barge out of the house and go after her uncle. He did this to her; not only did he hurt her beat her up for something small, but he also made her a runaway. He made her always scared of her environment; he made my baby the way she is today. Even after everything she had gone through, she was still so unbreakable, and for that, I was proud of her.

I was proud that someone like her was the love of my life, and I would do everything I did in my last life to make her mine again and again.

Alexandra was scared.

That was one thing I noticed when I told her I was going to look into this. She was scared something would happen to me just the same way something happened to her parents. When she told me the story of her parents, about how they were killed and how quickly her uncle came to save her, I immediately knew there was something fishy there.

Adriano. I picked her up from the floor before she could give any of her smart remarks. Fuck, she looks so sexy on her knees while taking me so good with her mouth. The thought of having her that way again made me hard. Alexandra let out a squeal as she wrapped her arms around my neck. “What are you doing, Adriano?” She asked, and I started walking toward the couch. The room was far too long to go, so the couch was my nearest and quickest option. “Fucking you,” I replied, my voice thick with so much desire. Fuck, I could eat her up, and I still wouldn’t be satisfied. I wanted to do so many things for her, and though I knew she was doing this because she wanted to thank me, I still wanted this to be about her. It shouldn’t ever be about me; she is the one who has to receive all the attention. “What? You can’t do that,” she mumbled and let out another shriek as I gently dropped her on the couch. She tried sitting up, but I was already on top of her before she could do that. “An

Alexandra. He didn’t have to mean it, but I wanted to do this; I wanted to thank him for freeing me. All my life, I have lived in constant fear: the fear of being punished for any little mistake I made, and the fear of running into Igor’s men while on the run. I have been escaping for the past ten years, but now I don’t have to anymore. I don’t have to run, and it’s all because of him. He did it.At first, when I saw the news, I wanted to think negatively; I wanted to feel bad that he was gone because of me. But as I waited, nothing came. Instead, I felt elated knowing he was no longer in this world to terrorize my life or force me to run. “There are better ways for you to thank me, baby,” he said teasingly, his eyes twinkling. He said it as if he didn’t mean it, but I was going to show him that I would. “I know a better way to thank you,” I replied, my eyes gleaming with mischief as my mind concocted countless ideas to express my gratitude.“And what could that—” The words barely

Adriano. “Go where?” She let out an exasperated sigh, pulling away from me and starting to pace. “Why won’t you just let me go? Why won’t you leave me to keep running like I always did? Why are you putting yourself into this, into something that will get you killed? You should just let me go, stop doing this, and—“ I pulled her into me before she could continue. I didn’t want her to say something she would regret later. She was only speaking like this because she was under too much pressure. “There’s one thing you still haven’t learned, baby. I’m not letting you go. I don’t care if I have to do everything; to burn this world down to make sure you’re safe, including fighting for you and even starting a war. I’m not going to leave you. I love you, and I have never loved anyone the way I love you.” “I meant it when I said I love you, baby, and I’m not changing my mind or letting you go. You belong to me as much as I belong to you, and nothing, absolutely nothing, will change t

Adriano. The car stopped right outside Romanov's house, and I did nothing after that. I stayed in my car and observed everything. I needed to be prepared for what I would do; Romanov had tight security, and I would give him that. However, it wasn't something I wouldn't be able to bypass. Aside from the three men standing at the gate, I could see four more men roaming around the compound with guns strapped to their bodies. While the situation looked intimidating, it didn’t mean I shouldn’t be ready for what was to come. I started the car and drove away when one of the men at the gate approached my vehicle. The ride home was quick. On my way, Kyle texted to let me know he had completed the task I asked of him. I was giving it an hour—an hour for the men Igor had double-crossed to do the job for me. As I got closer to my house, my car was stopped by the men Luciano had sent for Alexandra's and my protection. Even though they recognized me as the driver, they still stopped to check

Adriano. She is going to be my wife, not his. No, scratch that. She is my wife, and there is nothing Igor or her uncle can do about it. “Her fiancé?” Igor asked with a cruel smile, and I nodded. He stared at me again before bursting into another round of laughter, which led to a strong coughing fit. He shouldn’t laugh if he doesn’t have the energy to do so. “You expect me to take your word, boy?” My teeth ground together. “I believe you must have done some quick research on me; then you should know that whatever dirt I have on you will be exposed to every single one of those men in twenty minutes if you don’t do as I say,” I said, leaning back and glancing at the time on my wristwatch. This will take longer than I thought. “You must think of me as a fool, boy. How dare you come here and threaten me?” he growled, banging his hand on the table. I shook my head. “I’m not threatening you, Igor. I’m only asking you to—” He interrupted me. “You’re asking me to break a ten-year co
