Anna's POV.

Alpha Noah gestured towards the boxes of Goddess knew what, that creepy smile still on his face. "Offering these gifts is the least I could do after you saved my life. You, Anna, saved the life of the most powerful man in the pack."

I sighed and folded my arms, looking away resolutely. I knew the words he said were meant to placate me, to make me see reason with him. However, I still could not get over the feeling of uneasiness that blanketed me every time this man looked at me.

Was this merely a post-traumatic reaction from my time with Alpha Jasper? Was I supposed to be worried?

Suddenly, staying in the same room with this man seemed like a really bad idea. Suddenly, I was consumed with the need to see him out of the house.

In a bid to hasten his time with me, I turned back to him. "You said you wanted to talk to me about something. What is it?"
