Chapter 6

Nora didn’t need a prophet or a fortune-teller to let her know that the person who just walked into the room was the biggest devil of them all, whatever she thought the others were paled in comparison, she was only able to open her eyes for a moment and saw him just enough for her to give up all hopes that she would make it out of here alive. He was ready to kill and he wasn’t going to listen to her so she might as well give up trying to explain and just face her fate. Death. It cannot be helped.

“I want her moved to my house and the dungeon this minute, I will deal with her myself.”

His voice was commanding, husky, and harsh. The shiver that ran through her vein at his words was justified because he was terrifying and they were going to move her to a place where it would only be them. He was going to kill her himself and she didn’t even know who he is. Couldn’t even see him properly because she was almost blinded by the tears and the pains from the slaps she got from his men. But she knew all that will pale in comparison to what he would do. He was out for blood and her blood was what he seeks.

“Please,”

She pleaded when they untied her but no one listened to her, she was blindfolded and carried off on someone’s shoulder, she could barely protest, what chance did she have against a bunch of huge men who were hardened criminals? She was taken into a car that got moving as soon as she entered not like she had any strength to do anything, it was hopeless when she was drained of any kind of energy and the only thing that she could feel was the agonizing pain. They arrived a couple of minutes later and she was once again carried on someone’s shoulder, the person stopped to speak with someone, she couldn’t tell what they were saying as they were talking in Italian. He continued walking and they entered an area that seemed to be enclosed. The dungeon. He finally set her down and removed her blindfold, she didn’t open her eyes, what was the point? He chained her to the chair he had placed her on. She finally did open her eyes.

“Now, you are at the mercy of the boss, let me warn you that he is not as kind as the rest of us, think of him as the devil. For your own good, just speak your truth, maybe he would let you go or maybe not, but just speak your truth,”

He advised. Nora didn’t bother to respond to him because her answer was the same and it was her truth. She didn’t know what they were talking about and she couldn’t confess to something she has no idea of just to get away from this devil that seem to want her dead whether she tells the truth he wants to hear or not.

He left her there after making sure she was secured to the chair, if only he knew that she could not even stand even if she wants to not to talk of running away, her mind went to Roseline who would still be unaware that she was missing and would probably be out right now being happy and when she does decide to call her and she doesn’t take her calls, that’s when she would panic and might try to find her. The fact that her best friend won’t be able to find her in a foreign country and that her body might never get back to Florida hurt so bad, she wanted to be buried close to her parents no matter what and had even paid for the spot so that no one else would take it. Now her body might never be found and she would probably be dumped in the river, she hated cold waters and knew that she would even in death. The thought of dying scare her so much but the thought of being alone in death with no one close to her to mourn and send her away scared her even more. She wished there was a way to get to Roseline. She was the only one who would mourn for her and it would definitely break her when she finds out she was no more. She wished she had been there for Roseline more and not just stuck in various laboratories only caring about her career.

Rose had been the one to keep their friendship going, she had been the one to always call and set up dates and meet up, Nora wished she did a lot of that with her too. She wished for a second chance to be there for Roseline just like she had been for her but now, it was too late. She couldn’t turn back time and she was going to die with the regret burning at her heart. She looked around the room. It had only weapons of torture, wipes, and every other weapon that brings pain to humans. There was another giant chair not too far from the one she was chained to and it looked everything like horror. She knew if she ever gets moved to that chair, then she would be dead. Well, she was waiting for the moment, it would make it come faster.

Nora stayed alone in the room for what felt like hours after the guy that brought her in left, and every passing minute was pain-filled and every passing minute was of her imagining him coming in and pulling the trigger on her or just plain beating her to her death. She had so many scenarios of him killing her and none of them were without pain. She thought of ending it all by herself to prevent further pain and torture but she couldn’t find anything near her to do it and she couldn’t hold her breath long enough to die. She tried but it didn’t work.

The door opened after a long period and her heartbeat accelerated in fear. She knew the worse was about to happen to her and there was nothing she could do to stop it. She wished he would just shoot her and be done with it.

“You, it took me two whole years to get my hands on you, and now, I am going to make you pay for everything,”

His voice echoed in the room. His voice was filled with anger which was directed at the wrong person, maybe his anger would have been valid if he had done his research well and gotten the real person who wronged him. Why did he have to go for her when she didn’t even know who he was?

Nora closed her eyes when he walked closer to her, he was smoking like the others.
