I stifled a yawn as I got into my ready position. It was Monday again. A week has passed since the fashion show and this morning we have our gym class. Today is track and field, which requires all the students to run the whole field 5 times. You can see all the long faces in each student under the burning heat of the sun.
At least the girls are, but most of the boys seemed keen on showing off as they did stretches and making sure to flex their muscles for the ladies.
"On the count of three, everyone will run. There will be no walking or jogging. I want to run. If I see you walking then expect that I will deduct it from your grade. You can only rest when you complete the 5 rounds!" Our gym t
"So what is this thing that you guys want to talk about?" I asked as soon I closed the door behind me. As I promised, I headed for the student council room as soon as classes were done. They all looked up at me as soon as I entered. Leo sat on his usual seat behind the table while Sandy, Xander, and Sheen sat on the sofa. Sheen and Xander sat on one while Sandy sat on the other opposite to them. In front of them was a stack of magazines on the coffee table."Have a seat, Miss Collins." Said Leo and motioned for me to take the seat beside Sandy. I made my way to the couch. Sandy still seemed ticked off at me and didn't even bother to say hi like she usually does. I guess she was still bummed about the cafeteria incident. As soon as I was seated, I gave Leo an expectant look. "Well?" I asked. "What is it?"
Chapter 29I answered it. "Hello?""Hailey? Hailey, dear. Come to the fancy cafe a few blocks from your father's restaurant. You know where that is, right?""Yeah? Why?""I’ll tell you later. I'll send Greg over to pick you up the gate 3. Hurry up!""Mom, what-?"The line went dead before I could ask for more. What on earth does my mom want now?I noticed four pairs of eyes on me. The Student Councils were all looking at me. Then I realize something. Whatever my mom wants from me, it is the perfect opportunity for me to get the heck out of here."Oh, gee. I'm sorry
I don't know who this guy is, but somehow he seems to know me and calls me Waldo. All I know about him is that he's the son of Rowena, my mother's friend."Hailey, you know him?" My mother asks as she stood beside me."Heck do I know?" I muttered."Hailey?" Romeo dude asks and looked at me. "Isn't your name Waldo?"My mom looked at me with a raised eyebrow. "Now why would he think that?"I shrugged. "I don't know. Ask him."I pointed a finger at Romeo making my mother frown as she slapped my hand down."Don't point at other people!" She hissed."You told me the other day, remember?" Romeo said. "Outside Cafe 48."
"Given this problem, you can either use the sine or cosine formula...hey are you even listening?" Xander asked me while I was busy balancing my pen on top of my lips."Sorry what?" I asked and dropped my pen to the ground on the process. "Aw damn!" I picked it up.Xander, on the other hand, slammed his notes to the coffee table. "See this is the problem. How can you learn if you are not even listening?"I balanced my pen on my lips again. "What?" The pen dropped to the floor. Again. "Aw, man." I picked it up."This isn't working, Leo." Xander stood up ready to leave."What? What is happening? Why is he leaving? Is class over?" I said after retrieving my pen. My hands just about to put my notes and pens in my bag when Leo spok
I bolted towards the curtains where Gabrielle and I would be introduced. He ran after me while raising the wipes in the air like a weapon."Good evening ladies and gentlemen! Tonight we will have two special guests."I yelped and grab the nearest staff in the room and used him as a shield against Gabrielle. Poor guy looked confused as he stood between Gabrielle and I."Get over here!" He hissed."Sorry, buddy. My parents told me not to talk to strangers holding makeup wipes." I pointed at the tissue in his hands."These two have been on the hot seat since Mrs. Collins' runway project."
"Sorry. I meant to say Hailey. I forgot. I guess I got used to thinking about you being Waldo." In front of me was the guy, whom I still think is the robber who stole my phone the other day, Romeo. What is he doing here? And he was wearing the Waynard High school uniform for the males! What the heck is doing on? Then I suddenly heard the students stopping and I could feel their heated gazes as they watched Romeo talking to me. Great. This guy is going to ruin my image! "Who says you can talk to me?" I asked coldly and walked past him as I flipped my hair. "Did you see that? Hailey is so cool that she ignored the new hot guy!" "I feel sorry for him, but no one talks to Hailey and calls her Waldo!"
"Alright, before I was interrupted. I will be announcing your group members! Group 1: Courtney, William, Mirna.""I didn't know that you're popular in this school." Romeo leaned in and whispered to me."Hey. Don't talk to me." I warned him."You know, compared to all the girls here, I would rate you a 9 out of 10." He grinned.I feel like I wanna punch him. One of the reasons is that I am pissed off that he was rating girls. The other reason is that he did not give me a perfect 10! Doesn't he know that I am Hailey May Collins!?"Give me a 10 or I will hit you," I whispered. "Apologize to me!" My voice Rose a little that the student council, who is in front of us, gave us a look. I sure do hope Leo won't think badly abou
"Miss Collins, we have to ask of you to please avoid breaking things when you stop fights." I have to fight the smile that was fighting its way to my lips at the fact that I am walking side by side with Leo. We were headed for the cafeteria for lunch. It would have been a delightful trip if it wasn't for the fact that the others are following behind us - and Romeo. They somehow invited Romeo to eat with us since he was new and didn't really have anyone that he knows. "Let me ask you, did that strategy of 'no breaking stuffs' ever worked for you guys? I don't think so." I want to punch cool Hailey for the arrogance that I was showing towards dear Leo. We reached the cafeteria and waved at them goodbye before heading for my own seat. I set my lunch on my table and scrolled through my phone as I started eating my sandwich. All the news on every social media was
