Chapter Seven – Fury and Fear

Lucien’s POV

I stayed by her side, my hands carefully pressing, helping her ease the pain in her shoulders and back. She was trembling, pale, and broken, but alive. That was all that mattered.

Then her eyes slowly opened.

“Lucien…” she whispered, voice hoarse. Her gaze was weak, uncertain.

“Shh… don’t move,” I said, gripping her hand tighter. Relief mixed with rage coursed through me. “You’re safe now. Don’t try to get up too fast.”

I helped her sit up, gently guiding her onto the chair. Her legs shook, but I stayed close, ready to catch her if she fell. I fed her a few sips of water. She coughed softly, then looked up at me. Fear. Pain. Confusion.

And then the door opened.

Time froze.

He stepped in, my blood ran cold.

“Uncle Lucien! What are you doing with this… this bitch?”

The words hit the room like a hammer. So he, he’s his husband? I never knew he was the one I called with the nurse phone the other day.

My chest tightened, my fists curled. I turne

  • The Secetary’s Secret Marriage   The Love Between Us

Chapter 150: The Love between us The air was unusually heavy that morning, thick with anticipation, though I didn’t know exactly why. Lucien had been quieter than usual, moving around the house with that controlled calm that always made my chest tighten. Every time the phone buzzed, my heart jumped. Every knock on the door made me flinch. But today, I refused to let fear control me. Not anymore.“Alina,” Lucien’s voice called from the study, low and measured, “come here.”I took a deep breath, straightened my back, and walked in. He was crouched over a map, lines drawn, markers scattered, and his phone open to some encrypted messages. The intensity in his eyes made my stomach knot.“I’ve traced some of Dima’s recent movements,” he said without looking at me. “He’s working with someone I didn’t anticipate.”My pulse quickened. “Someone close?” I asked. He finally looked up, his gaze sharp. “Close enough. And he’s bold, Alina. Too bold. He wants to get to you directly.”The words didn’

Capítulo 149 — Together The office was silent, except for the faint hum of the computers and the occasional beep from the security system. Lucien had insisted on keeping watch over the new lead we had discovered — Dima’s ally — but he had let me stay in the room. I could feel his eyes on me, calm yet piercing, as if measuring every move I made. I hunched over the laptop, scanning through the data we had collected. Every email, every financial transfer, every subtle connection in Dima’s network was laid out before us, like a twisted map. The more I looked, the more I realized just how far-reaching he had become. And yet, there was a flaw — a tiny, almost invisible inconsistency that made my pulse quicken. “Look at this,” I said quietly, pointing to a series of coded messages. “Dima is trying to coordinate something tomorrow — something big. He doesn’t think anyone would notice this, but he’s left a trail.” Lucien leaned over my shoulder, his expression calm but unreadable. “You’re s

  • The Secetary’s Secret Marriage   His Movement

Chapter 148The office was dimly lit, the only sound the quiet hum of the computer and the soft tapping of Lucien’s fingers on the desk. Outside, the city seemed peaceful, but I knew better. Peace was always temporary when it came to Dima.Lucien didn’t look up as I entered, his sharp gaze fixed on the screens displaying maps, surveillance, and a flurry of encrypted messages. I paused for a moment, taking in the sight of him — calm, controlled, yet radiating an intensity that made my chest tighten.“Alina,” he said without looking up. “Sit. We need to go over what we’ve traced.”I swallowed my nerves and pulled up a chair beside him. On the main screen, a series of locations flickered — offices, warehouses, and even an upscale café I recognized from the city’s business district. Lucien had been tracing Dima’s new ally, following their movements and communications for hours.“What do we know?” I asked, leaning forward, studying the data.Lucien finally turned toward me, his dark eyes l

Chapter 147Investigating The package still sat on the corner of my desk, unopened for hours, a quiet reminder that the past I had tried to bury was clawing its way back into my life. The moment Lucien had left for the day, I found myself staring at it, heart pounding, hands trembling. I couldn’t ignore it anymore. Dima wasn’t just a ghost from our past; he was a storm waiting to strike, and I had no intention of standing idle while he threatened us.I took a deep breath and finally tore open the package. Inside was a photograph of me from years ago, long before Lucien had come into my life — a photo I had thought lost forever. Beside it, a note scribbled in harsh, familiar handwriting: “You think you can hide? You belong to me, and so does he. I’m coming.”My stomach twisted. Fear tried to grip me, but I pushed it away. No more waiting. No more hiding. If Lucien had fought this battle alone for so long, it was time I became more than someone he protected. It was time I fought with h

  • The Secetary’s Secret Marriage   The pack

Chapter 146 – The Package(Alina’s POV)The morning began like any other—quiet, almost deceptively peaceful. The kind of silence that wraps around you like a soft blanket, lulling you into thinking that the world outside has forgotten how to break.I was in the kitchen, the smell of coffee filling the air, when the doorbell rang. It was a sharp, singular sound, too precise, too deliberate. My heart gave a small jump. Lucien wasn’t home; he had left early for a meeting, or at least that’s what he’d told me.I wiped my hands on a towel and went to open the door.A delivery man stood there, holding a small rectangular package. No logo, no sender’s name, nothing but Lucien’s name written in bold black ink across the front.“Sign here, ma’am,” he said simply.I hesitated before taking the pen. The box wasn’t heavy, but it had a strange weight to it—a wrongness that I could feel through the cardboard. Something cold lingered in my gut as I scrawled my signature. When the door shut behind me

  • The Secetary’s Secret Marriage   Truth

Chapter 145 – Unveiled TruthsThe house was quiet after Isabella left, the kind of quiet that made every creak of the floorboards and hum of the air conditioner sound louder than it really was. I sat on the edge of the sofa, my hands folded in my lap, my mind still swirling from the afternoon. Isabella’s presence had been a balm, a small, bright light in the tension that had gripped me the past few days. And now, without her laughter echoing in the rooms, the silence felt heavier, almost suffocating.I heard Lucien’s footsteps before I saw him. Slow, deliberate, careful. I looked up to find him leaning against the doorway of the living room, his dark eyes fixed on me. There was a weight in them — one I hadn’t seen before — and it made my chest tighten.“Alina,” he said softly, almost a whisper, “can we talk?”I nodded, not trusting my voice yet. He stepped fully into the room and sat opposite me, the sofa creaking slightly under his weight. There was a long pause as he studied me, as
