Chapter Twenty Four: Locked

Alina’s POV

The branch office was bigger than I expected. The glass walls stretched high, the lights were bright, and the air felt colder, stricter, than the main company. People walked fast, their faces serious, their voices low.

Chapter Forty Nine : He Came Her Pov I sank lower in the metal chair, my wrists sore from the handcuffs, my heart racing so fast I thought it would burst. Every breath felt heavy, like the air itself was too thick. The room smelled of antiseptic and fear. My hands were shaking, my tears falling freely, and I couldn’t stop them no matter how hard I tried.“Please… just save me… just save me,” I whispered, my voice barely audible, choking on the sobs that would not stop. My body trembled all over. “I… I can explain later… I’ll explain when we get home… I swear… I’ll tell you everything…”Lucien’s presence filled the room. Even though he respected the law, I could feel his power, calm and controlled but fierce underneath. He had stepped close, his eyes locking onto mine, reading every ounce of fear and desperation. I could see the worry and anger in his gaze, but there was no question—he would protect me if he could.“Alina,” he said quietly, his voice low but steady, “I will handle th

Chapter Forty Seven : Interrogation Alina’s POVThe cold air of the interrogation room pressed against my skin like needles. The walls were bare, the light above my head too bright, making me squint. My wrists ached from the cuffs that dug into my skin. I could still feel the weight of the fake nurse uniform clinging to me, heavy with shame.I sat on the metal chair, my heart pounding so loudly that it echoed in my ears. I wanted to run. • The Secetary’s Secret Marriage   Caught

Chapter Forty Four : Caught Alina’s POVI gripped the elevator railing like it was the only thing holding me to reality. My heart was pounding so hard I thought it would explode. Okay, okay… stay calm. Just breathe. You can do this. My hands were still trembling under the gloves, but I forced myself to straighten my back and put on the strongest face I could. No one can see the panic. Not even a flicker. Just act like you belong… like you’re a nurse. When the elevator doors opened, I stepped into the hallway. My steps were careful, measured. One of them squinted, looking closely at my face. Don’t let them see anything. Act normal. Look calm. I straightened my shoulders, lifted my chin, and kept my gaze steady, even though every nerve in my body was screaming.“Good morning, nurse,” one of t
