"I didn't, because Warne would have said no," Adom shrugged casually.

"You're incorrigible, puppy," Ash shook his head, disapproving, but also amused.

"I don't know what that word means, so I'm going to take it as a compliment."

Ash laughed at that, snacking Adom in the arm again, and Adom just tittered, "Hey, kitty, your ears, they're doing that funny thing again!"

That earned Adom another smack, which had Adom muttering about how poorly he was treated, but he was making that funny face he often made, which had Ash laughing even harder.

And somehow, Ash felt small again, as small as a carefree omega, but the world felt big, teeming with endless possibilities.
