CHAPTER 10

Declan was listening to the sermon and biting his thumb when he noticed the doctor looking at Margaux.

He felt sorry for the girl because, even if he had turned the world upside down, he was ultimately to blame for Margaux's illness.

He was to blame.

"At the very least, Declan, be gentle with her; her hymen is now a shambles as a result of your pennis, and look at her now," Dra. Saffarah Galveston turned to face him after a brief glance at Margaux.

"You know what's going to happen with that anaconda of yours, so why don't you relax?"

"Look, Farah, I understand I'm to blame—"

"Uh yeah, it's really difficult to admit that you're to blame?" Farrah's brow furrowed as she looked at him, and Declan simply wiped his brow.

Dra. Saffarah Galveston is a family friend whom he contacted solely to inquire about Margaux's current situation.

Farrah used to call him by his first name, and he still does, because that's what they've been doing since they were kids.

Declan, did you ever find happiness?
