CHAPTER 12

Margaux was facing in front of her father, who had just returned from Batangas with a few keychains and imported equipment that she knew her father had purchased specifically for her.

Instead of being overjoyed, Margaux sat on her bed with a blanket covering her entire body, feeling a mixture of fear and nervousness.

Because of her father's razor-sharp gaze, she can't look straight.

"Who is that man I saw come out earlier at the gate, Margaux?" Its voice thundered, as if to warn her that one wrong answer would entangle her in his web.

"It was just a friend of mine when—"

"And when did you have a male friend, Margaux?" Her father said, and Margaux keeps on biting her tongue due to her father's loud voice.

As if thunder and lightning had combined, her father's loud voice could be heard again in the neighboring house.

Margaux raised her head to see her father standing there. She begged her father with puppy eyes as well, but he did not respond.
