"What made you think it would be better for everyone if you tried to end your life, Declan? Have you gone insane?" "My God, the third time I saw you in that mood, for what? To follow Margaux to—"

Declan's mother burst into tears as she hugged and stroked his back, attempting to retrieve the few pills Declan intended to take.
