Everyone in the palace started searching for Trisha and Polly. Bianca felt sick that someone had gotten into the palace and taken the girls under their watch. Who would have done it, and why? She, Gunnar, Alani, and Omar went into every room on the second floor, hoping whoever had them hadn't had time to go far. "We have the pups. Come to our bedroom." Selena mindlinked everyone. Gunnar held Bianca in his arms as the tears ran down his face. He didn't understand what happened. Who killed her? While he sobbed, the door burst open. Zaiden, Selena, and an older wolf named Ella ran into the room. Omar, carrying Alani, came in next. "Right before Alani passed out, she said she and Bianca had been poisoned," Omar said anxiously, kneeling next to Gunnar. "They're not dead, but they're barely breathing. Does anyone know what they were poisoned with?" Ella asked as she put her hands on Alani and Bianca. She was the palace healer and centuries old. "No," Everyone answered her. Ella rubbed her hands over Bianca and Alani's foreheads and closed her eyes. She suddenly opened them and looked at Selena. "This poison came from the gods. Queen Selena, their only hope is for you to save them. Please come here." Ella said. Selena knelt between Alani and Bianca. "What do I need to do?" She asked, looking

Andrew went to the dining hall the next morning to tell everyone about Nyx and Hermes. When he arrived, the others were already there. Polly and Trisha were extra careful about who approached Selena, even eyeing him suspiciously. "Good morning. I have some reinforcements coming to help us. I want to warn you because they're probably not exactly what you would expect as far as help," Andrew explained. "Okay, who are they?" Gunnar asked. He was nervous about anyone new after what happened to Bianca and Alani. "Nyx is the goddess of night. She's from the underworld. Hermes is the herald of the gods and travels between all realms. They're able to come to Earth, unlike those from the realm Selena and I come from. We need the power of the gods to fight the two goddesses. Having Nyx and Hermes here will give us that power, in addition to the power Selena and Zaiden now have." Andrew explained while everyone looked at him in shock

Hermes looked in disbelief at the woman with long reddish blonde hair who had just said he was her mate. Who was she, and where did she come from? Nyx looked from Hermes to the woman with envy. Nyx watched Daphne and Hermes with envy as they sat outside. Was she going to be the only one without a mate? She wouldn't have a problem with a shifter running to her and claiming she was his. In fact, it was something she had fantasized about a lot. "Are you Nyx? Are you from the underworld?" Polly asked her. Nyx looked at the two little pups and smiled. She wondered if she would ever have children. "Yes, I am. You're standing protectively in front of the Queen. You must be her guards," she said, studying them. Trisha and Polly's mouths fell open. "You can tell we're guards?" Trisha asked in disbelief. "Oh, definitely. Who else would be so protective of the Queen? It's a pleasure to meet you. What are your names?" She held her hand out to them, and both pups stood a little taller. Bianca and Gunnar beamed at Nyx for making their girls so happy. Maybe those from the underworld weren't so bad after all. Eros sat at his desk feeling lost. He didn't like knowing Selena was somewhere he couldn't protect her, and Psyche's evil sisters were trying to kill her. He had to do something to help her. He hoped to protect Selena, end the sisters, and get Psyche back. What could he do without going to Selena's realm himself? Andrew was there, but his power was limited. He needed someone with fighting abilities. That's when he had an idea. "Helios, can you come and see me please?" He mindlinked the god of the sun. He was among the few who could travel between their realm and Earth. "On my way," Eros smiled as he sat back in his chair. He knew Helios would jump at the chance to help. He was often underrated because he was the god of the sun, and people assumed that meant he didn't have much to do. Helios appeared in his office, smiling. Nyx flew out of the room and shut the door. Selena, Polly, and Trisha looked at her in concern. She had seen some terrible things, but the sight of a torso with missing limbs and head shook her.
