Chapter 29 - The Poison

"What do you mean he's your mate? You're not a damn shifter," Helios yelled at Nyx while he glared at Lachlan.

"I don't have to be a shifter to have a mate. I'm his mate and I'm accepting him. Now get the fuck out of our room before I make you regret it. I was never your woman. We were only together a few times and you were with many others during that time. You have no right to come here thinking you own me." Nyx was speaking low as her fury grew. One thing she couldn't stand was a man treating a woman like an object. She glanced at Lachlan, and he was leaning against the wall beaming at her. She would show him later how much she appreciated him letting her fight her own battles. She didn't want a man that treated her like a fragile piece of glass.

    Eris quickly made Polly and Trisha visible again, so they could see where they were. What everyone saw made them pause before running to their aid. Achyls was holding each of the pup's arms, but her hands on them seemed to be melting as she screamed in pain. Polly and Trisha stood together holding hands as Achyls fell to her knees. Nyx, Sabnac, and Eris got to them before anyone else. Sabnac pulled out a small bag of poison that he had made especially for Achyls and sprinkled it on her head. Eris removed her melted hands from the pups while Nyx grabbed Achyls and flew into the air with her. The poison Sabnac put on her paralyzed her. "Selena and Zaiden, throw one of your fireballs when I release her," Nyx said. "You can't kill me. I'm indestructible." Achyls yells. Her body was paralyzed, but her voice wasn't. "That's where you're wrong. With everyone I created, I ensured there was a way to kill them. That includes you. I promise it's going to hurt a lot." Nyx held Achyls awa

    Gunnar, Bianca, the guards, and the warriors all shifted into their wolves and ran into the crowd of witches. Helios, Hermes, Nyx, Eris, and Sabnac ran with the wolves and used their magic on the witches. Some of the witches froze when they realized they were fighting gods and goddesses. They knew their magic wouldn't be able to defeat them. Selena and Zaiden stayed next to each other. From what Leto had said their powers would be stronger if they were together. They used their power to take out one witch at a time by throwing small balls of fire at them that turned them into ash instantly. Achyls stayed back to watch, but she was getting angrier and angrier as the witches were defeated. Polly and Trisha watched everything while holding hands. They wanted to help, but they would never disobey their parents. They watched their mom and dad's wolves attack one witch after another. Omar and Alani's wolves were ripping off the witch's heads as were the guards and other warriors.

They have many people who are planning to help them, some with powers that can rival ours. Don't be scared. We have the power of dark magic on our side. If they know anything about us then they should know that we don't play fair. I want you to use every spell and trick you know on them. We will leave as the sun

    “What do you mean, they have the mark of the goddesses?” Gunnar asked as he and Bianca squatted down next to Sabnac and looked into Trisha's and Polly's eyes. “Stare into their pupils. Gunnar was stunned when he saw the same thing in Polly’s eyes. “What does this mean?” Bianca asked. Polly and Trisha looked at Sabnac in confusion. “We aren’t pups?” Polly asked him. He chuckled a deep chuckle and everyone around him looked in disbelief at the demon. No one had thought they'd see a demon like him laugh. “You’re still pups, but you’re very special pups. A goddess sent you here. I don’t know who or why, but someone sent you to Earth. That’s why you both are so mature for your age and have good instincts.” He explained. “How do you know so much about this?” Alani asked.
