48 | A mountain of guilt

Tequila rested her head on Uthman's shoulder. It felt so good to be with him then, what was surrounding the both of them as nothing short of chaos. Nothing seemed to be going right with the both of them. It was one out after the other.

"It is all my fault Uthman," Tequila said him. She was reminded of what happened in the marketplace again and she could not help but blame herself. In this case, it seemed to her that there was no one else to blame. She saw how scared Aliyah looked after she saw the man that hit her. The girl was scarred for life.

"It is not your fault Tequila. Blame the bastard that hurt her and tried to hurt our son too. Better still, blame the ones that ordered them to do it. It is not your fault Tequila, it is never your fault," Uthman said and rubbed her back. They were standing together and looking at the stars. Tequila wanted to believe what Uthman said. She wanted to believe that it was not her fault and that she had no part to play in it, but she knew better. S
