Comfort

Stirring as she tried to open her eyes, indeed she had somehow felt she was in a comfortable place and this felt like a dream to her because well the floor had been her bed for 144 months and she had already become used to that.

She laid there enjoying the peacefulness that came with the space she had found herself in.

As she slept there enjoying the peacefulness, she began to feel pain as she had now finally awoken from her slumber. It felt like she was going to die from the pain she was feeling.

Her ribs ached, her head churned, and her hands hurt too.’

Had she been kidnapped by the rogues yet again? Then what was the need for her to take an entire day running away from them when they still had that time to get closer to her?

Maybe it was a dream!

Maybe she had not run away from them, maybe as she was about running, she had been caught by one of them and hence the fact that she felt so much pain at this moment.

Maybe she had been beaten for having the guts to try to live the space where they had kept her as their laughing servant.

However, in her deep thoughts, she caught a scent, a beautiful and melodious scent. The presence of a peaceful person filled the room.

The smell of the person held the same kind of feel of their Alpha from when she was a young girl and could hear whatever it was that they spoke with her hearing aids.

What he was doing here was all her innocent mind could ask. Maybe he had also decided not to let her go for trespassing in his territory. Besides, she smelled like a rogue, and rogues always got killed.

But why then did they not just kill her? Why heal her to punish her even more, her mind thought.

He smelled so intoxicating, and it was super heavenly as she watched him give high and low breaths as he slept.

“Oh my goddess, what is wrong with me? I don’t even know if this man is going to kill, and I am fantasying over him” she said to herself as she saw that he shifted from the position he had been laying.

She quickly sent away the thoughts she had in mind about this fine man, they were other men in the room as the alpha but they didn’t have that authoritative smell as he did from where he was laying.

Where on this earth was she? She asked yet again but to herself as indeed the place looked indeed peaceful and all she could wish for was that she was not going to receive some beatings or pain as she was feeling better even thought her skin hurt but she felt she was getting better.

Jumping as the machine beside her began to beep too loudly, had she made a mistake to trigger something she was not supposed to trigger, she thought to herself as she was shivering.

Clearly her hearing frequency was not lost yet, her mother had always told her when she was growing that her deafness was of range and if something of high frequency was to hit she indeed was going to feel and hear it.

She indeed missed her mother and sister and father. I hope earnestly that they would meet yet again after she left this place feeling a lot better.

Her mother used to make up stories about young beautiful girls with her condition who always got the best of life, and that is how she had survived at the rogue pack.

Some of the hideous things they said she understood the others she didn’t understand as they spoke in lower tones before reacting towards her and it was never as good as she would always throw up and have bad bruises.

She continued to lay there for a while as now her eyes where wide awake and she was feeling a lot lighter and better, when she opened her eyes she later on closed it because well she didn’t want to meet the eyes of the Alpha who sat by her.

Maybe closing her eyes still will make him leave and let her feel at ease for a moment before he began asking her questions she probably had no answers to.

As she was having those thoughts in mind suddenly someone touched her, not harsh not troublesome but in a caring manner the beeping from the machine quiet high as she squirmed in her position her eyes now wide open and she was getting troublesome pain shots to her ears.

She looked at her arm and realized she had been connected to a bunch of wires and a liquid entering her body but that beeping sound was what kept making her feel like the world was going to end if not stopped that very moment.

Panicking she ripped off the needle from her arms and as she reaped it off the beeping from the machine stopped but she was restrained from standing up as she pulled the needle off instantly a woman was by her side applying pressure to the spot she had pulled off as the spot now held a wound.

She had learnt from the years back to stay deadly still if she was being punished. Hence, she waited for the woman to do whatever it was she had to do to her.

Instead, she finally knew that the woman was indeed trying to help her and not just be a wicked person.

The woman was trying so much so that the bleeding from her arms didn’t hurt her so much as she spoke to some person who was at the beck and call of her.

In an effort to know who this calm and beautiful woman was anthelia turned and was eye to eye with the woman who was also staring at her not in a wild way but rather in a very calm and cool way saying something she did not understand or here at all.

The Alpha instantly moved to her side as she had opened her eyes slowly, and she did not dare for a moment to even stare at him in his eyes.

When he was seated, he looked super small and accommodating, she might say, but now that he had awoken from the chair, she could swear he was some sort of giant and he was caring for her? She just couldn’t believe this.

Maybe she was indeed in a fairy land because she was being cared for by people she had never met in her entire life.

The lady began to talk, of course, but Nathalia couldn’t hear her. She panicked she watched her lips as they moved, hoping that what she was saying she could understand and just say something.

Looking at her lips yet again carefully she could understand that the doctor was asking her how she was feeling and in her mind she was taken aback again, this lady was still trying to help her and maybe she could just respond because why on earth was she on this hospital bed if they didn’t want to help her?

If they had wanted her dead or something they would have made sure she was in apins but here they were trying to find out how she was feeling and what she probably would want them to do for her.

She looked at Jacqueline, giving her an expectant look, hoping she was going to give her an answer so that they would be able to come to a conclusion as to how she felt.

Finally, she remembered that when she was younger, she was able to talk and just be quiet.

It was the fact that she had been shunned at the rogue pack not to talk that she had been quiet all these while.

Bingo!

Maybe if she said a word, they could understand what she was saying, and maybe she could tell them she needed hearing aids and she couldn’t hear what they were saying to her.

She opened her mouth, and all that came out was, “I-I-I” Well, that was a start she was certain that if she tried even harder, she was going to get it.

She closed her mouth this time before opening again to just say a word.

Nothing came, and feeling anger and defeat, she burst into tears of hurt as she could feel she could do it, but what was restraining her?.
