The Silent Pact of Love with a Billionaire-Chapter 5

The scene shifted again, and she found herself lying in the delivery room, hands clutching the bedsheets, covered in sweat, enduring unbearable pain as if something was about to burst beneath her.

"Come on, follow my lead, breathe in, breathe in, and then push!" The doctor encouraged gently.

Scarlett White bit her lip, gasping heavily. The exquisite features on her face twisted into a grimace due to the intense pain. "Ah!"

"Hold on! I can see the baby's head!"

"Ugh..." Scarlett White gritted her teeth, a painful groan swallowed in her throat as she pushed with all her might.

"It's out! The baby's head is out... it's a boy!"

The cry of a newborn shattered the tense atmosphere in the delivery room. "Wow!"

Sweat soaked Scarlett White's forehead, and she had almost exhausted all her strength. Her heavy eyelids drooped, and her breaths were rapid.

Suddenly, the door of the delivery room swung open.

"Excuse me, I'm Mr. Wilson's assistant. Please hand the baby over to me."

Scarlett White's hazy gaze fell on the well-dressed man who took the baby from the nurse.

She vaguely remembered Secretary Martin's words: "What Mrs. Wilson did was kept secret from Mr. Wilson..."

She was pushed out of the delivery room, and the assistant carrying the baby turned to the door and respectfully called out, "Mr. Wilson."

Scarlett White followed the assistant's gaze, and a tall figure bathed in the golden glow at the end of the corridor caught her eye.

In a crisp suit, he exuded elegance and stature. His steps were swift yet composed, radiating the reserved and steady demeanor typical of a businessman. The shifting light created a black silhouette on his sharply contoured face, concealing his features. He emitted an air of exceptional nobility, and as he approached, the surroundings fell silent.

"Has the child been born?" The voice, devoid of much emotion, Scarlett White had heard once before, in the study of the mansion.

Scarlett White widened her eyes, trying to get a clear look at his face, but it was as if she was trying to discern something in mist. Eventually, unable to resist the weariness, she fell into a drowsy slumber.

When she woke up, the doctor informed her, "Mr. Wilson has taken the child away."

-----

Scarlett White was awakened by a severe stomachache, a dream she had been having for many years, evolving from initial concern to current numbness.

"Amy..." She hadn't forgotten that she was with Amy Bond before getting drunk.

The car's interior was dim, but Scarlett White still noticed the note stuck to the rearview mirror—

"I'm going to meet someone with Matthew Qin at the hotel. Be back soon."

Staring at the note with overlapping words, she felt nauseous and wanted to vomit. She squinted at the hotel outside, pushed open the car door, and stumbled out.

Hotel lobby

Scarlett White asked the passing lobby manager about the restroom's location and walked unsteadily towards it.

-----

At the same time, a black Rolls-Royce Phantom slowly stopped at the hotel's main entrance.

The hotel doorman had long been waiting to greet them.

The car door opened, and several well-dressed men descended. It was evident they were elites from a certain industry.

As three or four people walked into the lobby, almost everyone unconsciously looked their way—

The most attractive among them was the handsome and mature man leading the group.

He was the tallest among them, appearing to be in his early thirties, dressed in a black handmade suit that outlined his tall and slender figure. His demeanor was extraordinary, and unlike the current trend of tan skin, his complexion leaned towards fair. Paired with a white shirt, he looked impeccably clean, making it hard to look away.

Before reaching the service desk, he suddenly stopped and checked his watch. "I'll go to the restroom."

"Yes, Mr. Wilson."

Scarlett White washed her face, stumbled out of the stall, and felt dizzy.

The sound of flowing water was particularly clear in the quiet restroom.

"I almost forgot to wash my hands..." She paused, then moved slowly toward the source of the sound.

Suddenly, her feet slipped, and Scarlett White rushed forward, colliding with a wall. The faint sound of water instantly disappeared, as if someone had abruptly turned off the faucet.

The expected pain from the joints didn't come. Scarlett White subconsciously reached out to touch the "wall" pressed against her.

The touch was firm, and warmth emanated from her palm. Different from the impression of a wall, there was even a hint of tobacco smell...

She looked up and met a pair of deep black eyes. In silence, a wordless understanding spread between them.

After a while, Scarlett White's gaze slowly moved downward—

Instead of tiles, she saw a sharply contoured face.

The light reflected on his distinct facial features. His narrow double eyelids made his elongated eyes seem even more profound. The high and straight nose formed a perfect profile, like a majestic peak. His thin lips habitually pressed together, and Scarlett White's mind had only one thought—

He's a man, a remarkably good-looking man!

At this moment, he was looking down at the woman who had unexpectedly collided with him from behind. His brow furrowed tighter, and he quickly reached for his suit zipper—

"This abalone mushroom has changed color and grown hair. Are you sure it's edible after washing?"

The man's zipper-pulling motion paused.

Scarlett White, swaying, stood up. "No water... then I won't wash." Muttering, she unsteadily supported herself against the wall and walked out.
