“What is it Thierry?” He looks at me with confusion and then looks back at the parchment thinking he missed something.

“Dimitri, it’s my family. My family has the lycan gene.”

“Does the book say how to tell who has the gene or if it’s all of you and your children?” He is really getting excited. This is the closest we’ve ever come to figuring out who has the gene.

“I don’t know. I didn’t get that far in the book. Give me a second.” I grab the book and read further to see if it says anything else about it.

“From what the book says, the person with the gene will not know they have it until an event to trigger it happens. I would say we all have the gene and it has to be triggered.“

“Does it say how to trigger it?”

“It says in times of danger or great loss. Their life has to be seriously threatened and almost to the brink of death for the gene to trigger or someone close to that person dies and not just of old age, a horrific death. I don’t like either of those.” I don’t want any o
