The Questions (part iii)

"Why did you tell him?" I questioned right after slamming the room of his chambers open. Startl5 he looked up to me, his hands freezing in mid of turning a page of the book of his lap..

"What did I tell to whom, my child?" He asked back in confusion. I huffed out an annoyed breath.

"I don't have the time for your mimic innocence, high priest. Last night the king confronted me, asking me if I was his mate." His eyes broadened visibly at my statement. "He could have done that the other day when I came. But he only did that after you called me his mate. So, you must be the one to fill his ears." I accused him. He shook his head and walked towards the window, his back to me.

"I can swear upon the goddess I didn't say anything to him. And why would I when I myself don't want him to know that?" He asked as he faced me again.

"And why don't you want him to know?" I asked frowning my eye brows in suspicion.

"There are a lot of things here you don't know." He replied.
