Chapter 1

Author: July
Andrew Zelenski was planning on confessing his love to the pretty exchange student.

He went around and made sure everyone would keep this a secret from me.

What he didn't know was that a meddling classmate had informed me long ago. After all, everyone knew I liked Andrew, and it was a dream of mine to marry him.

It was love at first sight for Andrew. He had serious feelings for that girl from the start.

People assumed I was going to make a huge fuss—cry, throw a fit, or even threaten to hang myself.

This kind of drama-filled love triangle was catnip for everyone, basically. So, they were all waiting for me to cave and go kick up a stink.

Sadly for them, I never made an appearance. Not even after Andrew had successfully professed his feelings.

A huge crowd had gathered to watch the proceedings but was now starting to lose interest.

Even Andrew's face was looking a little glum. With one arm around his new girlfriend, he took out his phone.

He frowned when he saw that there was not even one call or message.

Then, he turned to address the crowd, "Dinner's on me. Everyone here's invited."

The crowd of students shouted with joy hearing this.

Finally, I, who had been standing behind a tree, walked out.

An eagle-eyed student spotted me and immediately yelled, "It's Kaylee Johnson! Kaylee's here!"

"I knew it! I knew there was no way Kaylee could stay away!"

Andrew raised his head. The moment he saw me, his lips curled up ever so slightly.

I ignored those waiting for a show and walked straight up to Andrew.

"Kaylee," said Andrew as he tugged his new girlfriend even closer to him.

"You can't force matters of the heart," he said airily.

"We've known each other for more than ten years, so I don't want to be too harsh with my words and sully our previous relationship. I'll still see you as a younger sister, and if you need something, you can still come to me."

Then, he lowered his voice before adding, "There are a lot of people watching, so don't make a scene. Leave, quickly."

"Andrew," I interrupted him and took a step forward.

He frowned again. "Kaylee, behave."

I smiled, then removed the bracelet from my wrist and handed it to him.

"I came to return this to you."

Andrew's face fell upon seeing the bracelet. "What are you playing at, Kaylee?"

"Take this bracelet back, and I won't bother you anymore."

Andrew fixed his gaze on me, and his voice grew colder. "The money it's worth is nothing to me. If you don't want it, then just throw it away."

The moment he finished his sentence, I turned around and threw the bracelet into a nearby trash can.

"You can throw away the things I gifted you previously too."

With that, I walked away without sparing him any more glances.

Andrew stayed glued to the spot, even after my shadow had disappeared from sight.

His expression was still cloudy.

A friend, who wanted to appease him, sighed. "Kaylee's just protecting her pride. She's just doggedly holding it in. Just watch, Andrew. She'll regret it before the night even falls."

"She might even come back to dig through the trash can before we've even left," another said.

Andrew chuckled. "She can go ahead and act up however much she wants."

Spencer gave a low chuckle, kissed me again, and then lifted up the blanket to get into bed. But the moment he saw what was underneath the blanket, he completely froze. "Kay…"The soft lighting from the night light gently radiated across the room and shrouded over me. The pearl gleamed in and out of sight while nestled against my hair. The light also cast shadows across my bosom as my chest rose and fell. The touches of pink were especially enticing when contrasted against the other more muted colors. It was as if they were cherries ripe for the picking.I had been very shy at first, and my hands and feet had all gone stiff. However, seeing Spencer's reaction right then made all my nervousness dissipate. I sat up and then leapt into his arms, hooking my own around his neck. And just like that night in his dorm room, I leaned into his ear."Spencer, do you like what you see? Your eyes are as wide as saucers…"I could feel that every muscle in his body had tensed.H

When Spencer took me to meet his parents, I was honestly quite anxious. His mother, Elaine, had become a devout Eastern Orthodox a few years ago for some unknown reason. In recent years, she would always go spend a few days at the monastery and light candles. "Don't worry. My mom has become very devout these few years, so she's especially kind. As for my dad, well, he listens to my mom."Spencer had seemingly caught on to my anxiety, so he spent the whole way there comforting me. But the closer we got, the more nervous I became. "Spencer, how about we come another day? I'm scared."I grabbed onto his sleeve and halted my steps, refusing to go any further. "Kay." Spencer shook his head helplessly. "Mom has already come out to welcome us."I looked over, and Elaine had indeed walked down the steps and was making her way toward us.I could only suck it up and follow Spencer over. "Mom, this is Kaylee Johnson."I hurriedly said my greetings then handed over the gifts I h

Spencer's kisses traveled to the side of my neck. "Kaylee, I don't care about that. But I'm still a little happy hearing you say that. You know how men are a little selfish when it comes to these things.""I know, Spencer. I'm telling you this just because I don't want him to slander me. It's for you, but mostly, it's for me." With that, I gave him a grin, then ducked into his trenchcoat. "Spencer, let's go home. I'm freezing!""Alright."He held on to my hand and held it very tightly, and it would be one that would last a lifetime. Before my relationship with Spencer was made public, I went to the Johnsons and spent a whole afternoon discussing matters with them. Finally, with the help of the real daughter, Robyn Johnson, I managed to reclaim custody over myself. Henceforth, I had nothing to do with the Johnson family and vice versa.I made this choice at this particular point in time because I knew them too well. If they found out about my relationship with Spencer, t

Andrew suddenly fell silent. His gaze swept from Spencer's face to mine. His originally good-looking face was now contorted into something vicious. "Kaylee, Spencer doesn't know that you're not even a real Johnson, does he? It's not nice of you to hide something this significant from him, wouldn't you say?"Even though I was long prepared for my identity to be revealed to the world, I still could not help but feel ashamed and helpless by how Andrew had suddenly blurted it out. My hand, which was still being held by Spencer, instantaneously turned cold. Sweat seeped out and covered my palms. Andrew chuckled when he saw how my face paled. "As expected, you were hiding it from him. I knew if he knew your true identity, he would only stay far away from you. Even if you crawled into his bed, he still wouldn't even touch one hair—""Andrew." Spencer suddenly let go of my hand and started nonchalantly rolling his sleeves up. Then, he removed his watch and handed it to me. "Pre

Because everyone had noticed that a girl had followed Spencer in. And that girl was none other than me, Kaylee Johnson.Andrew continued to sit there without moving, but the glass that he had been holding in his hand suddenly shattered. Sienna screamed in horror. "Blood! Andrew, you're bleeding!""Get lost." "Andrew?""I'm telling you to get lost! Can't you understand simple words?"Andrew suddenly leapt to his feet and flung whatever was left of the glass that was still in his hands onto the ground. Sienna stood dazed for a while before breaking out into a loud wail and running out.Everyone else in the private room also tactfully headed out. Andrew's hand was hanging by his side. Blood was dripping down slowly, but he did not feel any pain. All he could do was glare at Spencer. After a long while, he finally lifted a finger and pointed at me. "Spencer, aren't you going to explain?"My hand, which was semi-hidden inside my sleeve, was gripped even more tightly by

He chuckled as he lowered his head toward me. "I've got good hips too. Want to give them a try?"I poked my finger into his firm abs, then giggled right next to his ear. "Too bad you finish so quickly." "Kaylee…"He was a little exasperated, but he was young and full of vigor after all, so his eyes were narrowed in determination."Just you wait! No amount of begging or crying will help you then!"Andrew had invited a whole host of people for his birthday party, as per usual. Sienna had spent extra time on her appearance for the party and was breathtakingly gorgeous. When the two of them sat together, it made for a beautiful picture. Sienna was in great spirits because all the other girls were giving her compliments. When she turned to Andrew, however, she noticed he was slightly distracted."Andrew." Sienna had to call out his name multiple times before he finally heard her. "What's wrong?""It's getting late, and everyone's hungry.""Why the rush? Not everyone is
