Gabe was always with her even after she stopped working at the high school and then changed her hours from the graveyard shift to the day shift so the two could have the nights to themselves. The pair were seen together through the days from fall to spring. They had three classes together, and those were the ones he wasn’t having trouble in. She spent most of her free time tutoring him on the other three. Because of her, he was passing now, and they laughed about it. They talked almost every day as well. Over the summer, they attended the meetings, with her father dropping her off and Maverick bringing her back to the farm later in the evening. The next day was often the worst for her because she would still get up before the sunrise to do the chores she had been assigned. The fact she was different didn’t get her any special treatment on the farm. She was okay with that. The drive to the farm wasn’t all that long. Though he knew this was not probably the smartest thing to do, he couldn’t argue with her.
