Chapter 22

There was a rough sigh from a middle-aged woman.  Her husband had been difficult to persuade her to take the medicine. Various methods have been used but they have not worked.

 Since Jes' departure, her husband's health has deteriorated, he has to take several kinds of medicine and has to rest in bed.

 The woman who had been persuading her husband was Beatrix.  Even though Darwin was very difficult to persuade, he was patient.  Darwin's healing was paramount.

 "Take your medicine if you want to recover," Beatrix said.

 Darwin, who sat leaning on the head of the bed, looked away.  "I've said it many times.  I don't need medicine, all I need is Jeslyn back. "  Not only once did Darwin say this, but he had repeatedly and always refused the drugs given by Beatrix.
