Ashley

Three days passed and the meeting finally came. Zane, as he loved to do, bought me a dress to wear for the meeting. It was an exquisitely embroidered drees studded with the occasional ruby. It looked too serious for the meeting, but then I understood that Zane was trying to make a statement as well, so I had to appear in my best.

The representatives had come in the wee hours of the morning for some reason I couldn't fathom, and Zane had been the one to receive them. Since I wasn't his bride yet, not was I the queen, I had to wait behind. It wasn't until later that I was now summoned and told that the meeting was about to begin.

I took one last look at myself once I was ready, before stepping out to see Great Families of the Lycan tribe.

The halls were quiet as I made my way there without even as much of an escort. The change in power dynamics almost made me smile. When I first came eyes were always on me, as though people were afraid that I was suddenly going to do something d

Ashley Cecilia's words spurred me to action. I got down on my knees beside the man and checked his pulse, but my heart continued to plummet. He didn't look good at all, in fact, when the thought crossed my mind, I realised that the colour of his skin was incredibly pale and sickly.“How long has he been sick?” I asked, rolling him to his side and opening his shirt so that his neck was free and exposed. His convulsions continued, and at that point the front of his beige pants darkened.Cecilia looked at him with disgust and rose to her feet, taking her hands off him as though he was a piece of hot coal. When she noticed the way we were looking at her, she feigned awkwardness, and cleared her throat.I put her behaviour out of my mind and focused on the man, desperately searching for a way to save him. I couldn't find any signs of poisoning, Which made my work even more difficult. At least if he had been poisoned,. I could go and find him an antidote, but then, there was nothing I cou

Ashley As Queen Bella explained, the Great Families were also known as the founders of the Lycan Tribe in its entirety. The long-standing feud between the Gammas and the Leventis was just half of the full story.Just like the Gamma family, there were others who also had to play in the formation of the Lycan Tribe, though they didn't carry as much authority as the main two often talked about. So they banded together and formed their own council of the sorts, a group dedicated to speaking up about the affairs of the entire tribe as a whole. While they couldn't exactly dictate the affairs of the tribe, they weren't to be disrespected or ignored either. It was a little worrisome that they had taken interest to our upcoming marriage ceremony. The whole villa was already abuzz, and I could see it in the way maids walked about with faster clicks, and orders were meted out in rapid-fire. Zane wasn't in his room, so the queen and I made a quick detour to his study, where he was mkst likely

AshleyNews of our engagement spread like wildfire across the entire tribe. So fast that it even shocked me. I woke up to knocking on my door and it just happened to be Alicia, all pink and full of smiles. She immediately pulled me into a very tight hug that had my chest compressed by her full bosom.“This is such great news!” she exclaimed, pulling away enough to see my face. “This is the best news I could have gotten this entire week. You know what this means, don’t you?”“I think I do, although I must admit that I’m a little anxious about what it means,” I replied, gently pivoting on my heels. “How have you found out already? I haven’t even told anyone.”“Oh, Zane was never one to keep things away from me. He called a meeting with me and his mother--which reminds me, she’ll come and see you too as well, it’s best you get ready.”“Do you think she’ll be happy with this?” I could still remember how she had been so certain that I was going to be the end of her son. How would she feel

AshleyThe ring was in his hand once again, right in front of me. In the daylight, I could see how the colours blended even perfectly. Who knew just hoe much work Zane had put into the ring to make it so beautiful?“Zane…” My protest sounded so weak, even to my own ears. Really, what excuse did I have for not wanting to be with him? In the end, there really was none, and the only thing standing between us was the great fear which held me in a heavy choke-hold.“What is it, Ashley? Just talk to me and stop running away.” He moved closer to me underneath the tent. His face held a tender look that pierced my heart even more. “Whatever the problem may be, we can always work on it and make things better. Just don’t…run from me. Please. I want to be with you, with every single thing I have on the inside of me.”His words were completely honest, and my heart cracked open even more like thawing ice. I wanted to be by his side so much. I had found a home already in his arms, but it was made ev

Ashley When I got back to my own room, I quickly slipped out of my clothes and entered underneath the bed covers. The tears hadn't stopped, and I wondered how long I could keep it up before I was left with nothing else to cry. “I'm sorry,” I muttered to the dark, feeling very sorry for myself. “I'm sorry.” But it was better than accepting his proposal when I was still scared that this one would also fail as well. I cursed Moonlit Silver pack. I cursed Carina. I cursed Jace. And I cursed Elena for taking me into her care when I was only meant to be a pawn in whatever game she was trying to play before she disappeared.—The next morning came by in a blur, but I still felt tired. It took a lot of energy to drag myself into the shower to clean up and prepare for the day ahead. I just hoped I didn't bump into Zane or I was going to break down again from the weight of my guilt. Alicia too was also a very perceptive woman. It was going to be hard hiding my emotions from her, unless I si
