Three weeks had passed since Zane showed up at the estate. Three weeks of silence. Avelina threw herself into her studies, spending hours at her desk while Kyle played nearby. She still hadn't called Zane. Hadn't made a decision.

"You can't avoid this forever," Alina said one afternoon. They were in the company boardroom, sitting through a marketing presentation.
