NADIA’S POV

The doorbell rang, pulling me out of my daydream. I stood up and signaled to my maid not to bother opening the door. I pushed the front door open and welcomed Penelope.

After seeing Will off to his car, I had taken my breakfast and called Penelope that I needed to speak with her urgently. My joy knew no bounds when she agreed to come.

“I’m so sorry for calling you out suddenly, and that you had to go through the sun’s wrath.” I said, intertwining my right hand with hers.

“Oh, darling, you should know I'd do anything for you. Moreover, I didn't like the way you sounded on the phone. Nadia, is there anything wrong?” Penelope questioned, looking concerned.

Hot torrents rolled down my cheeks before I could form the words.

“Nadia, you need to talk to me. What exactly is going on?” Penelope gave me a worried look.
