The Agreement

The next morning, I left Anna in the room alone. We hadn't said much to each other all morning. Just sat in silence. She refused to be there for this next part. And I couldn’t blame her. To her and Godric, I was about to do something awfully stupid. I was going to sacrifice myself for the well-being of everyone else. I was about to walk into a situation without knowing anything. But I would be strong.

The walk from the Alpha's room to the negotiation tables seemed like the longest walk ever. I would think my feet would be happy to walk, knowing my parents would be free soon. But instead, I felt like cement blocks were tied to my ankles.

While I and Anna slept, I thought a lot about what Godric said. 'What did I want?'
