A Statement
Famke was standing at the counter of the local police precinct and gave a polite smile to the man standing behind it. She looked around noting for the Boxing Day holiday it was busy. The place was hopping.
“Hi. My name is Famke Noor. NYPD asked me to turn myself in this morning.”
The man lifted an eyebrow. “It’s Boxing Day. It couldn’t wait until after the holiday. Did you kill someone?”
“Nope. Punched an influencer in the face.”
“You did it.”
“Yes. Do you need to arrest me?”
He typed on the keyboard in front of him. “Name?”
“Famke Noor.” She tapped her foot worriedly as he searched his data base.
“We were asked to take your statement and to have a discussion with you. I’ll have one of our detectives come meet with you. You can take a seat there.” He motioned to a row of wooden chairs against a wall.
