She ascended the stairs with her hand enveloped in Royal’s oversized one. They paused at Precious’s door. Famke watched as he gingerly pushed the door open, and her heart melted at the way he stared at his niece. The love he had was visible on his face. All the hurt of the day had culminated in this moment of knowing love. She enjoyed the way he chuckled at the way Precious was sprawled in her bed, her blankets kicked to the foot.
Famke leaned against the door frame and watched as he tugged the blankets up and tucked them around her before pressing a warm kiss to her forehead.
