Mirah's Loyalty

There is a thing — money can buy the system. Whether it’s laws, politics, or positions of power. My grandma once said never to taste the power of money. It will make you nothing but a power-hungry animal.

“He has been trying to get the appointment but failed!”

“Bring him in,” I said, my voice firm.

“What if he’s here to talk about the recent situation?” Mirah looked concerned.

I leaned back into the chair, my eyes sharp. “Do you think I’ll be afraid of a Mayor? Don’t worry. I have nothing to lose anymore. But I will definitely make this place a living hell for those who oppose me.”
