Zane’s point of view.
I take the phone off Jake with shaky hands. I need to speak to her. I need to tell her I love her. I need her to know how much I love her, and most of all, I need her to fight for her and her baby and for us and our future together.
My heart breaks as I hear her sobbing down the phone; it's killing me. I promised that I would protect her and the baby, and I’ve let them both down.
My voice breaks a little as I say.
