Chapter One Hundred and Thirty-Two

In stark contrast to the exhaustion and helplessness weighing on both her father and Henry, Bella found the condition that she marry Levi to be utterly ordinary. Among the upper class, contract marriages were far from rare no romance, no love, only alliances of interest and the stabilization of power.

According to her father, Levi had once nearly swallowed up the family company, which showed that his influence was far greater than she had imagined. In that case, her marriage to Levi would naturally benefit both the company and herself.
