Bella, eager to learn more about Pearl and her husband, Max, intentionally avoided letting anyone know that she was Max's wife. She pretended to be a curious employee who liked to gossip and joined in conversations with everyone. Through this act, Bella gained a deeper understanding of Pearl and Max's relationship.

However, no one wanted to speak openly about them in their presence because they were aware of Pearl's close relationship with Max, who was the CEO of the company. They didn't want to risk their jobs over a few careless words.
