Meeting (2)

Daylen was sedated to allow him to get some rest. He was on edge since he woke up and Syvan doubted that he would be able to fall asleep on his own.

A few minutes after he fell asleep. The nurse exited the room crossing paths with a man in a black leather jacket.

The man entered the room and locked the door behind him. He sauntered over to the bed and glanced down at Daylen. The male looked better than when they brought him in, he wasn't so pale anymore.

"Zane, where are we so far?" Syvan raised the question turning away from Daylen.

"So far, we can deduce that this man was held captive as a blood source," he said. "Which explains why his body is drained of blood and the reason he is still alive," he added firmly.

Syvan clenched his fist. Various magical beings used people and other magical creatures to feed the bloody vampires and it sickened him.

The Oakenheart we're simply inhumane. Treating people who are alive in such troubling and heartless ways. And hence, he had vowed to stop them at all costs. To end their reign of terror all over the country.

"Do you have a lead to explain why he was kept alive until today?" Syvan questioned.

Zane shook his head. He had not found the reason why Daylen stood out from all other victims of the blood traders. Normally the victims were kept alive only for a few months at most before they were disposed of in pieces.

This was the first time anyone taken by the ruthless blood traders had been rescued.

Since there were no other victims found dead or alive at the location that they raided. It made them question the reason that the blood traders kept Daylen alive for so long.

From the blood work that was done. The doctors discovered that the poison in his system had been flowing through his bloodstream for a long time. Which indicated that Daylen was held longer than all victims of the blood traders.

"What did the doctor say?" Zane inquired to kill the silence that had fallen into the room.

"He is recovering but there is a problem," Syvan uttered and paused weighing on the words that he was going to say next. "He is recovering slower than normal. When his results show that he is a werewolf."

The news came as a shock to Zane. He didn't anticipate hearing that from his boss, he was Syvan's right hand and he understood how much it hurt him each time they discovered a werewolf victim of the blood traders.

"He has likely lost touch with her werewolf," Zane commented.

Syvan nodded. It pained him to see the state in which Daylen was, the boy was not an ordinary werewolf. He was his mate and they treated him as less than a human being.

The reality he was faced with made his blood boil third degree. Seeing the wounds on Daylen ignited a new flame in his heart, a fire that was pushing him to ensure that the blood traders were eradicated from the surface of the earth.

"One more thing you should know," he let out and halted. Creates some suspense to build up the courage to tell his right hand the truth about Daylen.

"He is my mate," he admitted to Zane.

Zane's jaw dropped. His mind was blown away by the news that his boss had just dropped on him. He didn't know how to react to the fact that the man was Syvan's mate.

He wasn't the only one that was still adjusting to the news. Syvan had no idea what he was supposed to do with the knowledge that the male was his mate.

Or how he was going to break it to him that they were fated partners. There was no way for him to be sure that Daylen was ready for something like that.

At that very moment, it was more urgent to save him and help him heal than to weigh the burden of their bond to him. He ran his hand through Daylen's hair gently trying to ease his worries.

"What are you going to do?" Zane raised a question after processing everything in his mind.

"I have no idea," Syvan answered honestly. The first thing on his mind was to help Daylen get better from the trauma of the pain that was inflicted on him.

He figured, there was no way that his mental state would be able to get over everything that he had endured.

"We have your back. The blood moon circle will have your back and together, we will figure this out," Zane said in a comforting way.

He placed his hand on Syvan's shoulder and squeezed it gently. No matter what came their way, the circle will stay by their leader and fight until the end.

"Thank you," Syvan let out.

He reached out for his phone. He played some soothing music and set the phone next to Daylen to help him sleep peacefully.

Syvan pulled the blanket over Zander's body and tucked him in bed. He watched over him with a weak smile on his face. He raided Oakenheart's hidden warehouse for one reason, to rescue his childhood friend. But got to find his mate.

Daylen gave him hope. If the blood traders kept Daylen for as long as they did. Then there was a chance that his childhood best friend was also still alive. He crossed his fingers and prayed that she holds on until he finds her and brings her home.

He hoped that she was as strong as Daylen and would not break from the torture the monsters were putting her through.

"You are safe now," he whispered to Daylen. "I won't ever let those monsters hurt you again," he vowed.

"Not alone, the circle won't even let them cast their evil shadow on him," Zane assured Syvan and excused himself.

He walked out of the room quietly and closed the door before vanishing down the hallway.
