I never wanted to go back to the realm which my parents are from. Somehow, I just had to. Dark fae were hunting my mother and my father had to go and help because apparently, I was not ready to rule either his kingdom or my mother’s own. He was doing it for my good though, too bad he had to drop me in a boarding school to do it. I would not have much issues with that if not for the fact that I somehow, unknowing draw attention to myself the very first day and progressing forward, my life became filled with mean girls and school crush with a twist. The means girls were literally after my life and the crush might just be my mate. And oh, apparently, I am the most powerful dark folk to exist in the last thousand years. And a darkness lurk within me, waiting in the shadows and causing flash outs, using my body to do its will and it might just be in cahoots with someone close to me. I never knew what hit me until it hit and when it did, someone was taken. My name is Iristendale, first dark princess with the power to shake hell.

It will be just like changing schools, he said.  We needed to go home, like our place of origin, he said. It would be good for me to know where I am from.  I just decided that my father is suffering from a lot of things but I should add one more to the list, Memory issues. There is absolutely nothing alike between the human school I was attending before I was shipped to this glorified prison yard with a lot of criminals. Just that in here, that is the Faery, an alternate realm, no longer earth, it was deemed as a very good way to best your opponent. It makes children strong.  Welcome to Arcanes Training Institute, ATI for short. The best school that exists in Faery and does not discriminate among the top five species that live here. It did not matter that I am crossbred between two of them because a lot of halflings come here too. Oh sorry, Half and half. Halflings referred to children

I did follow the instruction carefully and I found myself at the place where the headmaster said, before the stairs, they were labelled, the highest was thirty five which was strange because with the way he was going on about me not being able to finish climbing was strange, like they were in hundreds or something but it was just thirty five and like he also said, there were people milling about, some were sitting on the stairs and laughing while others stared at them with envy. I drew my conclusion that those sitting on the stairs were regarded as the cool kids.  I was tempted, seriously tempted to ask one of the others milling about what the stairs were for but something told me that I would incur the wrath of my dad who was watching. With a sigh, I started the journey, with my first step on the stairs, I understood why the principal did what he did. This was indeed a test. A test to see if I would survive

I watched as he swallowed, looking at me. No that was not right, he has not be able to tear his gaze off mine since he turned around.   “Is everything alright?” The girl asked and I watched as he seem to snap into the present. He still stared at me but with a frown now, like he was awaiting that I acknowledge something and I was ignoring it on purpose. Something charged was in the air, I felt it since I came here but I was not well versed enough in this world to understand anything.  “Yeah, everything is fine.” He replied as he tore his gaze away from mine. “How can I help you Trixie?” He asked. Trixie, my guide jaw dropped at him. “Cirdan, is this some kind of new torture technique. You don’t need to. Me being in her presence and watching her take the test was enough torture.” “You are assig

Today was the most eventful one in the history of eventful. At least in my history. I got to meet a staircase whose main purpose was to rate people power level, something which I still don’t completely understand and then I flirted with a guy and asked for his number first, to be fair it was not my fault. My attraction to him was not just strong but still real because I just need to think about him and I am blushing like crazy, met with my guide who seems like a decent guy that was on his way to be my best friend. Apparently, I am clicking well with every member of the tour Team at ATI. And before I forget, I was dumped by my father at a new school for magical brats, in a whole new world which I had only heard about in stories and because my father is king and I might have people who will be after me by default, I have to tell the Principal to keep my identity secret, something which I had forgotten to double check because of the whole excitement for today.

The new girl rumors, there are always rumors about the new girl, this I know because in my time, I had spread some of them but this was on another whole new scale. ATI way of doing things were more extreme, way more extreme and sadly just the kind of extreme that would make me get hurt.  The new rumors were fueled by the teachers refusal to give out my name and instead of the students thinking that I am some one important, they starting thinking that I was maybe a disgrace to the realm. Disgraces were halflings or changlings or those whose parents literally shamed their race and were unable to get away with it. When you manage to get away with it, you are regarded by another name, praises are sung about you and everybody forgets the wrong deed that you did. As in the case of my mother.  “So I am laying my bets on the fact that your parents, both of them are powerful. That will explain the reason wh

I knew when I was in danger. That is an ability most species in Faery had and my stay on earth did not affect that ability and currently, that ability was ringing alarm bells so hard in my head.  “Hello, how can I help you?” I asked.  “You have a lot of nerve.” The one in center gritted out. Another cliché earth characteristic which Faery teenagers also had. The queen bees of the school, moved in a pack and if they were three, the overall leader was always in center. I have watched the one that spoke throw herself at Cirdan over and over again and although something in me bristled at it, I ignored the feeling most of the time.  Until they decided to get into my face.  “Yeah I do. But with what?” I asked, shrugging a shoulder delicately, my fingers already itching to slam her head into the wall beside me for talking to Cirdan

Cirdan  My mate is sure a funny one, or so I thought until it was clear that she does not understand what was happening to us.  And I am the one who has to bear it because I could not find myself being closer to her without being with her. And then she just had to go and gotten lost and I snapped at her.  I couldn’t tell her that I was worried about her and I had a legitimate reason to be worried.  Not like ‘hey, you are my mate and I don’t want anybody other than me to ravish your body and you came close to that today’ could be considered as a legitimate reason. She was also the reason why I was taking my dinner with the rest students even though I have to endure their fawns and fake friendships.  The highest time I was willing to give her for her to catch up and enjoy her last days of singlehood was a month.

IRIS I understood what it meant to be under Cirdan protection. People apologized and wanted to be certain that there were no hard feelings between me and them, people I was not even aware of. And then the room switch in which I was taken to an exclusive dormitory which a lot of people did not have access to, by Cirdan commanded. It was enough to make me wonder about him, what was special about this guy, it was clearly more than just his looks and the Principal was willing to eat out of his palms if Cirdan wanted that. He was acting the same way he acted towards me.  “Finn,” I called during lunch one day, I was watching Cirdan as he ate and sketched something, he was an artistic Folk, one of the few which could bring their drawings to life, I had learned of that little nugget about him when he gifted me with a page out of his sketch book in public. I had wondered what he was doing at that time but he was really just showing p

Cirdan I watched Iris and the lower classmate whom the soul sisters sent to intercept Iris, I really needed to do something about those three brats, it was no longer amusing watching their efforts in the way they were trying undermine my orders and protection right in my presence, they were trying my boundaries. I knew that was why they sent the girl after Iris while she was within my full view. They wanted to see if I will be quiet about it all and I was not.  I slammed my hand on the table as I glared at the girl while my mind came up with different ways to kill the soul sisters.  Iris smiled at me before going back to her table, I was totally eavesdropping on her conversation with Finn, I needed to issue a warning especially for Finn. He should not put ideas in her head. She was still fighting the attraction and I could sense her growing discomfort, we would have to end this no touching rule sooner rather th

IRIS One minute, I was thinking of how I could manage and escape Cirdan, he was glaring at me and the door, I was thinking my chances of escaping was minimal, the next minute, a female who I had not seen since I was two was gliding into the room, announcing to everybody what I tried so hard to keep hidden.  Come to mother, she said, I wanted to scoff and roll my eyes but I couldn’t because my father trained me with more decorum than that. I knew better than to air my family dirty laundry outside.  Come to mother, she said, she was waiting patiently with her arms extended. I couldn’t very well not go to her, I had to pretend that I was at least a little happens to see her in front of others. I didn’t know what she was looking for here but she needed to leave before more damage than she had already caused.  “Hello mother.” I said in a low tone as I packed my
