“Get home safely Katerina. Promise me?”

“Uh…I promise.”

I can’t help but brush my fingers along her cheek before kissing the top of her head. Apollo is howling, begging me to stay by her side.

“I’ll see you again. I promise.”

With that I dart into the forest and hide among the bushes until I see her leave with her friend. Apollo is frustrated that we could not take her home with us. He has connected with her wolf and has confirmed Katerina is our mate, but her wolf can’t tell Katerina that. Something about being bound by the moon goddess and needing to learn it for herself. I am beyond irritated that I can’t tell her, but at the same time if she doesn’t recognize the mate bond then she may not believe me and being that I am a lycan, the Alpha lycan at that, I am sure she wouldn’t believe me.
