LOGINCHAPTER THREE
THIRD PERSON'S POV"Hm! She survived the woods, but once again, chose the Wrong location, your sister must have been cursed by her ancestors" the witch said, as they both starred at Serena through the crystal ball"She been cursed or not, is non of my business, How does she keep escaping death?" Clarissa groaned"How did she outrun that ish.. ish.. whatever you called it? Are you even reliable? Cause I am starting to doubt if you're actually the most powerful witch in this region" she questioned"Your sister ran out of luck the minute she stepped foot into The Dark Heart Pack, so don't worry too much" The witch said in an assuring tone, not without a smirk thoughClarissa just sat there starring at her with a confused expression, but suddenly, her face litted up and she smiled ear to ear"The show just got more interesting" she said, still smiling"Yes it did" The witch replied, equally smiling"It's late now, I have to get going, I don't want Jake asking about my whereabouts" Clarissa said and with that, left the covenSERENA'S POVSome minutes after the guard left the tent, I made my way out It was really dark outside, and a disadvantage to me because female wolves cannot see clearly in the dark, unless they wolfed outAnd unfortunately for me, I couldn't, but that still didn't stop me from leaving "Hey, who are you?" The voice of a man put me to a halt"What are you doing by the border?" He asked, I guess he didn't figure I was a rogue"Haven't you all been warned...." He was saying but I didn't wait to listen to the rest as I was already on my heelsHe ran after me, and also raised an alarm so that the others could Chase after me tooAfter about thirty minutes of running, I was sure they had lost me, so I stopped to rest under a tree"Hm! You really are good at running huh?" Someone said beside meAnd I jumped backwards clenching on my chest with my left hand, while my right hand was stretched out with my claws pointed out, ready for attack I raised my head and I was shocked to see who it was"Bryan!" I exclaimed and he smiled "It's been a long while" he said and I nodded"What are you doing here? How did...." I was saying but he cut me off"I got in here as a rogue, but with the help of the Luna, I became a member of the Pack" he responded and I cocked my right eyebrow, a ray of hope shined in my heart, the Luna could help me also, since she knew who I wasJake had also banned Bryan from the pack, because he suspected that I was cheating on him with the guyBryan was my childhood bestie, though he always had issues with Jake, these two never agreed on anything"So...What are you doing here?" He said pulling my attention back to him "Hh! I was banned from the pack and denounced Luna, After walking around in the woods, I found myself here" I explained and smiled bitterly"Banned? Jake Banned you? The nerve of that bastard…why?" He asked, I could feel the anger in his voice"It's a long story Bryan, don't want to talk about it now" I responded and he nodded without pressing further"It's okay if you don't want to talk about it, but he really needs a brain check, it's obvious he has shit in place of one, anyway you're safe here, this pack is for everyone" he said and I chuckled lowly"Come on! I'll take you to my home, it's really late for you to walk out here all alone, considering the fact that you're a rogue, it wouldn't be safe" he said and I nodded in agreement"That's true, thanks alot" If only he was the one destined to be mate then I wouldn't have had to go through all these, but the moon goddess knows best, I believe that there is a light at the end of the tunnel for me"That's the lady!" Someone shouted from behind, and I was very sure it was some of the pack's guards"Goodness! Why are they chasing after me?" Silly and stupid question to ask, but however, he understood me"It seems they finally figured you're a rogue" he replied and I snapped my head towards his direction"How did you know they mistaked me for a member of the pack?" I asked with creased brows"Well, I was also at the border some minutes ago, and I saw all that happened, that's also how I knew you were here" he said"Oh!" Was all I saidIt was so stupid of us to stand there, asking and answering questions, when we were ought to run for our lives"How did you get in here rogue?" One of them asked, they had caught up with me"Isn't it obvious? He is her accomplise" Another one said, pointing at Bryan"No he...." I wanted to defend him but, they had cuffed us already, and ordered for our silence"The Luna is so soft hearted that she makes all rogues members of the pack, she has no idea what they do behind her back" Another one said and the rest nodded in agreementThey all just kept talking, while I was thinking of a way to get out of their captivity"How in the world did all these rogues get in here?" A guard asked, as a large number of wolves were making a circle around usThey're here to rescue their friends of course, what else?" Another answered and I just shook my head, my ill luck at it againWe were out numbered as we were just Seven all together, five guards, Bryan and IThey all wolfed out, ready to fight while I just stood there, depending on them for safetyA fierce fight broke out between both parties, many rogues were killed, and some of the guards too"Hop on my back" Bryan mind linked as he ran towards me, and I didn't think twice before doing itHe ran as fast as possible, but the rouges didn't seem like they were ready to back downIt was clear to me now that I was the one they wantedThe next time I looked back, one of them was back in human form and was pointing an arrow at meI could tell it was coated with silver, as it was was radiating even though the day was darkHe shot the arrow at me, and I knew it was my endI still wondered why they were after my lifeMaybe it was the doings of Jake and Clarissa, so I thoughtI felt a hug behind me, as I landed on the groundIt was Bryan, he took the shot for me"Holy shit! Bryan!" I exclaimed, as he was bleeding from the mouthI knew there was nothing I or anyone could doOnce a werewolf is bleeding from the mouth, death is inevitable for themHe died on the spot, and all I could do was shed tears, he didn't deserve to be killed, I was such a bad gem, Jake could be right you know? Maybe I had no place on earth, maybe it would be better if I just diedI performed the last rite given to a dead wolf, and made to moveThe rogues weren't chasing after us any longer, but I had to find a place to spend the night, this bushy area was definitely not an optionI walked through a long lonely dark path, not knowing where I was or headed, until I saw a buildingIt wasn't abandoned obviously, as lights were luminating in the environmentI got closer, and I heard loud music playing from the inside. It was a bar"Is it possible to sleep In a bar? Well, I don't think I have a choice right now" I said to myself and walked inSurprisingly, everyone in there were humans, except for the bartendersI dipped my hand into my luggage, to see if I had any money on meMy luggage was a bit small and portable, so it was still on meLuckily I did have some money, so I ordered for a shotI needed to calm my nerves, after all the running I had partaken in the last few days"Hey girl, guess the latest gossip in town" A lady, in her mid twenties said to the other one sitting beside me"What is it?" She asked eagerly"Sonia is devastated, because....." She started, then paused, gauging her friend's reaction before she continued"Why? Why? Why?" The lady asked "Because she discovered that, her husband Kyle, has been cheating on her with her best friend" She continued"Oh my goodness! Poor Sonia. Is she okay?" The second lady asked, while I sat there, listening to their conversation"Wait! Listen to the whole story first, before asking about her well being" this lady sure loved gossips "To make the situation even more unbearable, neither Kyle nor her bestfriend felt remorseful for their actions" she continuedI didn't even notice that I was already shedding tears, the memory of why I was at the bar came rushing back and I cried moreSoon, everything became blurry, and I couldn't listen to the rest of the storyI was drunk, that I'm sure of, the last thing I remembered that night, was someone lifting me up and after some time undressed meChapter Forty SixFirst Person’s Perspective Serena*My Terms(2)*……“I said do it! I’m the Alpha’s widow, I have the authority. Transfer the funds immediately”She ended the call and immediately dialed another number. Then anotherI watched her work, my expression neutral, my heart carefully guarded. This didn’t change what had happened. It didn’t erase the past. But it was something, something tangible and very much realAfter several minutes, she lowered the phone and looked at me, her face pale and exhausted“It’s done,” she said quietly “The money will be in your account within the hour”I didn’t thank herI didn’t smileI just nodded“Good”Clarissa’s face crumpled a little, like she’d expected something more. Maybe gratitudeMaybe warmth Maybe a hug or tears or some sign that this had bridged the gap between usBut I had none left to giveThe well was dryShe’d taken too much for too long“Serena…” she whispered, her voice small and broken. “Can we… can we try? To rebuild what
Chapter Forty FiveFirst Person’s PerspectiveSerena*My Terms*The next morning, Clarissa showed up at the motel againAnd to be honest, I wasn’t even surprisedForgiveness didn’t mean trust….and it certainly didn’t mean I’d forgotten everything she’d done, she knew that muchWhen I opened the door, she stood there with hopeful eyes, like she expected things to just go back to normal between usReally? They wouldn’t, not even a a million years to come “Serena,” she said softly “Can we talk?”I glanced back at Liam, who was eating his cereal at the small table. He looked up, curious but quiet“Stay inside,” I told him, then stepped out and closed the door behind meThe morning air was cold, biting against my skin. I wrapped my arms around myself, not just from the chill but from the discomfort of having this conversation at allClarissa’s face brightened a little, like she thought this was progressIt wasn’t“I meant what I said last night,” she started. “I want to make things right.
Chapter Forty Four First Person’s Perspective Serena *Unwelcomed Guest* Life in the human town moved slowly after that, I tried to get a job thr next day, but I didn’t find any, I had cried and begged some of thr employers, telling them I had no money and that I was a single mother, most of them threw me out like trash, a few handed me dollar bills like I was some begger…. Well, technically I was Those are what helped me for the next few days to buy bread and dried fish and also keep paying for the space at the motel, Liam wasn’t getting better, the human medications I got for him had no effect whatsoever, now I was more than stressed and didnt know what else to do I searched google for herbs that could treat a werewolf’s sickness, I had to go into thr woods to find the herbs, when I came back Liam was nowhere to be found I screamed my lungs out, almost losing consciousness ehen my little boy ran into the room, asking if I was okay I had to warn him sternly never
Chapter Forty ThreeFirst Person’s Perspective Serena *Into Human Territory*I waited until Liam slept deeply before I movedMy legs still hurt from all thr running, and my arms felt weak from carrying him, but I didn’t have a choice. We couldn’t stay in that broken cabin, it wasn’t a safe place at all, and If the guards found us, they would kill both of us on sightThe moon was high when I picked Liam up again. His head rested on my shoulder, he wasn’t aware but stillI whispered to his ear anyway“We’re leaving, baby, just hang in there a while”I stepped out of the cabin slowly. The night air was cold, colder than before, like it was warning me. My heart beat too fast, but I kept walking. Every crack of a branch made me jump. Every shadow felt like someone following usBut there was no time to be scaredI had to get my son away from werewolf land, because due to this shift of his at an early age, will cause people to hunt him down, some might try to kill him… others might try to e
Chapter Forty Two First Person’s Perspective Serena *Chaos & Escape* The moment Reed’s head tilted forwad, everything broke Someone screamed, Someone vomited. A few guards stepped back like they had seen a demon. I was frozen behind the stone pillar, my whole body shaking. Even after everything Reed had done… I didn’t think he deserved that. My chest hurt so much I could barely breathe You would think that is the worse part huh? Wrong Liam, my little boy, started trembling on the ground “No… no, no, Liam, stay still,” I whispered, reaching toward him But before my hand even touched his arm, his bones started cracking. His body stretched in ways that weren’t normal and then he let out a sound, half cry, half growl, before I could decipher what was happening, a huge wolf stood where my son had been Not a tiny wolf, not a pup, but a full sized wolf, twice the size any child should be able to shift into And his eyes… they were glowing gold Everyone saw it “Kil
Chapter Forty One Third Person’s Perspective The morning sky was grey. Thick clouds covered the sun, turning everything dark and heavy. It felt like the world already knew something terrible was going to happen. Two guards dragged Reed into the open yard. His feet scraped against the rough ground. His wrists were tied behind him, bleeding from the tight ropes. His face was bruised, his lip split, but his eyes—though tired—still burned with anger.Serena stood in the corner, her own hands bound. Her knees were shaking. She kept whispering over and over“Reed… Reed please stand… please…” Even after the betrayal, even though he felt them a burden, she didn’t want him dead, he was still the father of her child Jake walked out first, wiping his gloves slowly, like he enjoyed every second. Robert followed behind him with six more guards surrounding him.Robert looked at Reed with a cold smile.“Today we end this lie,” he said. “And you will die knowing you are nothing.”Jake stepped forw
