Chapter 7

Stormie-

I didn’t say anything as he tended to the sore on my foot. He was meticulous and would gentle his touch when I released a hissing sound from the pain. When he was done, he didn’t say anything as he packed the medical supplies back in the box.

With my foot now wrapped, I suddenly felt awkward as I sat on his bed. Standing up, I nearly knocked into him as he stood. His arm wrapped around me to keep me from falling back, and I felt his entire body tense.

“You should be more careful. Otherwise, you are going to keep making trouble for me.” Axel’s voice was husky as he spoke, which I liked more than I should have.

“Sorry.” I gently pulled away from him and took a step back. “I will do my best not to make any trouble for you.” I bowed my head with my hands folded in front of me.

“It is late. Your room is through that door.” He pointed at the wall.

I didn’t see the door, so I was a little confused. When I didn’t move, he sighed and placed the box on his bed before moving past me. He
