“Axel,” I repeat. His name sounds like melted butter in my mouth. Sensual, seductive, wild.
This is wrong. This is all wrong. I took a vow to commit to my husband. The first twin.
Why the hell am I breaking that vow with the second, wilder twin? The wrong twin. The one that would surely ruin my life.
But everything’s different with Axel.
With Ansel, it’s all about morbid control. All about his own desires.
But Axel knows how to manage control, to spin it into a pleasurable experience for me.
For one thing, I am not afraid of Axel. I am enthralled by him.
“We shouldn’t do this,” I whisper to him.
“Yeah, we shouldn’t….” he returns hoarsely. That voice has a hold on me. A strange hallucinatory effect.
The low rumble of it, the duskiness, and rough edge captures my entire body, holding me captive.
He pulls my panties aside, his finger searching for and finding my clit.
He begins to run circles on it.
I moan into his skin.
He runs his tongue along my neck base.
“Do you want me to stop? Just tell me to stop,” he breathes, fierily.
“You need to sto…” I begin to say but I couldn’t bring myself to finish the sentence.
Fuck it, I don’t want him to stop. I want him to ravish me right here. Again, and again and again.
“Good girl. Now sit back and let me…”
A sudden noise outside the kitchen door startles us.
I shove Axel away, afraid that it was his brother coming in to catch us red-handed.
In my attempt to run, I jump right into the broken shards of glasses lying around on the floor.
The glass penetrates into my feet, drawing blood.
I let out a short cry of pain.
Axel comes over immediately. “Let me.”
Before I can protest, he scoops me into his arms and carries me away from the glass.
He deposits me carefully on the kitchen island.
I struggle against him the entire time.
“Ansel’s coming.”
He can’t even begin to understand the horrors I would be put through if Ansel found us in a compromising position.
Axel heads out to the kitchen door to have a look.
As soon as he pushes the door, my cat, Sir Louis, comes running in.
“See? It was just a cat. Your husband’s busy with international calls in his office,” Axel scolds me.
I exhale with relief.
Sir Louis hops onto my laps. I begin to stroke his mane.
Axel returns to me. he takes my leg, examining it with a tenderness I have never received from his brother. Ever in all the five years we’ve been married.
“You should be careful, Princess. We don’t want your precious body getting hurt now, do we?” Axel asks with a teasing grin.
He starts to pick out the glass in my feet.
I can’t stop staring at him.
His devilish streak of seduction is irresistible. His eyelashes have only grown softer, longer in all the years he’d been away. His skin is tanner now.
“How was Europe?” I ask him.
He puts down my feet, looking up.
“Cold. Fun. The summers were the best.”
He finds the first aid kit in the overhead drawer.
As he stretches a hand to bring it down, his shirt peels up, revealing his lithe body.
I see the number 2/02 tattooed on his body inside a love tattoo. My birthday? He has my birthday tattooed on his body?
My heart beat suddenly accelerates.
Calm down! You definitely need to calm down, I think to myself. It could be something else...who knows? Another vital date in his life.
It definitely has nothing to do with me.
Still, just the thought of having my date on his body for one second made me so happy.
Fuck, Axel has a way of driving me nuts. It makes me irrationally angry knowing that our time together will never amount to anything tangible.
I already chose his twin. Being back here will ruin everything for me.
When he tries to touch my feet again, I slap his hand away.
“Why are you here, Axel?” I want to know.
Knowing him, he’d just get me attached to him and then run away again. I don’t trust him. I never did.
“I’m back to stay, Princess.”
I wish he wouldn’t call me that. It has a possessive tone. It automatically sounds like he’s my prince. He’s not.
“Why? Europe sounded amazing five years ago. You said you would never come back. You left.”
I wanted to add ‘You left me’ but what right did I have to make that assertion? I married his brother. Technically, I left him first.
“I fucked up. I know. I was a coward. I never should’ve let him have you! You belong to me!”
I sigh. This is all messed up.
He touches my upper thigh.
“Tell me you’ve never thought of me all these years. Never even imagined for one second about me,” he says slowly, sensually.
I can’t think straight with his hand on my body.
“We can’t do this, Axel. You lost that right when you left for Europe.”
“If I remember correctly, I was begging you to marry me instead. You said no. You chose him. What was I supposed to do? Sit around here and watch you be happy with him?”
I snap!
“I am not happy with him. I was never happy with him. I wasn’t happy back then and I’m definitely not happy now!”
Axel’s brows raise quizzically.
I take a deep breath. I shouldn’t have done that. Now, he knows. I never wanted him to feel like he won or that I made a mistake in marrying Ansel.
We hear footsteps coming down the stairs. I cover myself up quickly and leap out of the kitchen with Axel following me.
My husband’s coming down the stairs. He frowns when he sees us together.
Then, he notices my leaping.
“What happened?”
“Nothing. I stepped in glass. I’m fine.”
He observes me coldly for a few minutes before turning to his brother. He doesn’t say sorry, or express concern about my injury.
“Um, you can stay at the guest house in the north end corner of the property until you find your own place. I expect you to come to the office tomorrow. We need to start making preparations immediately,” Ansel says in his business voice.
I glance over to Axel, my eyes full of questions. What preparations? What’s the real reason he came back?
Candy“Yes, darling, a sex shop. You’ve been to one of those before, right?” Axel replies in a teasing voice as he unbuckles his seatbelt to get out of the car.I follow suit. “I can’t be seen here with you,” I say, looking around for any signs of someone watching us.Ansel’s got eyes all over this city. He has once caught me while I was out with my new male polo teacher after a session because someone at the restaurant texted him.Being as sick-minded as he is, with all his sexual gadgets, I’m pretty sure he patronizes half of the sex shops in this city. I can’t take the risks.“Why not?” Axel replies, amused. I want to slap that stupid smile off his face. He doesn’t know the kind of danger he’s putting me in!“You did this on purpose, didn’t you? You said we were shopping for a new Dior bag. This does not look like Dior!” I rant, my voice rising higher and higher.Axel leans against the car, watching me closely, bemusedly. “Honey, we are shopping for something. We’ll stop by Dior as
Candy My breath hitches. I almost go limp from his touch, breathless. How does he know exactly what to say at every single moment? And why do they have such an immediate effect on me? He is holding my gaze, tilting his head to observe me. He is aggravatingly attractive; it’s distracting and annoying. Mostly because there’s a small voice in the back of my mind telling me to fall on my knees, bury my face between his thighs and suck his dick. The gardener’s working tools make a rattling sound that forces me out of my own head, suddenly. The image of being on my knees sucking his dick dissipates quickly. I return to the present where he is still holding my hand, still gazing into my eyes, still holding me prisoner. I snatch my hand away. “Just so we are clear, I am only going to help you shop for a gift, right? That’s it. And then, we are done. All this tits-for-tats nonsense ends?” I ask. Axel laughs. A benevolent sound that splits out of his guts. “You make it sound like a di
Candy When Vivi and Irina leaves at the end of the garden session, I am left alone with Axel. I would run away back to the safety of my room, but I need to talk to him about Irina’s debt. I rack my head, thinking of ways to convince him to part with a 100k. It’s a lot of money. How in the world did Irina get herself into this hole? “Alone at last,” Axel’s voice break through my reverie. He is staring at me shamelessly, hungrily. Like he wants to pounce on me here. The gardener has resumed work, cutting the flowers a few steps away from us. I doubt Axel even sees him. He is that shameless. He’ll do whatever he wants in public. I am the one who has to worry about our secret affair not getting out. “Something’s wrong. You look glum. Are you feeling better?” Axel asks, rushing over to me. I take some steps back, turning in the exit direction to leave the garden. Axel pursues me. He is still shirtless. His body is shining in the sun, distracting me from my mission. I clear
Candy I fluster, my chest tightening at the sound of that. His voice is so attractive, so sexy, it’s pulling me back into his web. “Where have you been? Have you been avoiding me?” he continues. My heart hums a fast-speeding beat. He makes me feel like I’m walking on a tightrope. And if I don’t concentrate with all my might, I might tumble off the rope and crash to my doom. In the afternoon sun, he is glistening. Tiny beads of water sparkle off his body. It takes everything in me not to lick them off him. An image of my long tongue running along his tight abs invade my mind. Shit, I shouldn't let such things in my mind! I shake my head to dispel it. I can’t afford to have dangerous images like that in my head. “Hey, doll? Are you listening to me?” he says, snapping his fingers in the air near my face. “I’ve told you…Stop calling me that. I am not your doll,” I snap at him. He relaxes, smiling. “Ah, there she is, the Candy I remember.” Behind us, Vivi is staring with her mou
Candy I stand near the front door, waiting for Vivi to park her car. For an event planner, she is surprisingly well-off. Her expensive Mercedes goes off. She rattles a bit in the car, before climbing out slowly. In her arms, there are a bunch of files. “Hey, Vivi, it’s so good to see you,” I say, putting on my best hostess voice. I am covered from head-to-toe protectively to hide my scars. The fact that Ansel’s putting me through hell does not stop me from carrying out the responsibilities I committed to. Besides, it’s been two days and most of the scars are healed now. “Hi, Candy, it’s so good you made time to show me the garden,” Vivi says, stretching out her hand as she approaches me. I glance behind her. “Where’s Irina? I was hoping she’d come with you?” I ask. I had not seen Irina in two days, not since we were thoroughly pounded by her bookie. “I thought she was here. She told she was coming in. Isn’t her fiancée still living here?” Vivi asks. “Yes, Axel’s still
Candy By dawn, I am frigid and nearly catatonic with hypothermia. My scarred body was coated with thick blobs of goosebumps caused by the cold. The torture room is reinforced with thick walls and steel door. There are no windows so I had no way of telling time. All I know is that I laid there for hours and hours shivering through chattering teeth until finally, the door swings open. Bright lights flood the room, momentarily blinding me. It’s morning. I see my husband standing in the doorway. He is dressed for work. He enters the room, working on his sleeves. I didn’t react to his presence. I’d become so used to spending nights in here that it didn’t really matter how long he’d leave me here. Without a word, he unshackles me. I collapse to the floor, near his feet. “Look at you, a fucking mess! Clean up yourself!” he spits out. I can almost taste the vitriol in his voice. He struts off, his boots leaving scuffed marks on the hard floor. I sit on the floor for a few mi
~Candy~“As you can see, the penthouse is spacious with natural light, swimming pool, and a great view of the city,” the realtor, a middle-aged woman with graceful white hair, says. She gestures around, excitedly. She’s right. The penthouse is perfect for Axel. The square foot, bathrooms fitted wi
~Candy~ Axel examines my wounds furtively. "Who did this to you? Tell me right now, I swear to God I'm going to rip him apart!" My eyes fall on Irina who is quietly fuming behind Axel. Her jealousy is obvious, it emanates from every part of her body. "Oh, I'm fine by the way, thanks for aski
~Candy~ I wake up the next morning, hungover. I turn around in bed, exhausted. The curtains are open, letting in bright rays of sunlight that trigger the pounding in my head. What the hell happened last night? “Ah, about time princess, morning,” Axel’s voice echoes in the room, surprising me.
~Candy~That night, I hit the clubs and bars downtown to drink away my pain and disappointment. With each drink, I can feel my senses corroding and my inhibitions lowering. “So, I told him to buzz off! Go be with his fancy fiancée,” I say to the bartender in the last bar. The bartender, a woman in
