Chapter 141

Emma hurried down the hallway. Her long robe brushed the floor as she walked. Her heart beat fast in her chest. She didn’t even notice the maids bowing or the guards standing. Her baby was crying, and that was the only thing on her mind. When the rogues had said she had done something forbidden, she thought it's her child. And a maid reported of her child crying the same day the rogues had said to her. It was not enough to rile her up and get her beating.

She pushed the door to her room and stepped in. But the crying had stopped. She paused. Her eyes moved to the crib.

Tyler stood beside it. He had Shawn in his arms. He held the baby close, rocking him gently. Shawn looked peaceful now. He had stopped crying. His little fingers rested on Tyler’s chest. His eyes were closed. He was calm.

Emma stared for a moment speechless. When bad Tyler returned without her knowing about it. And how did he know her baby was crying to have arrived here on time to pet him down? She couldn'
