The next morning, Emma was woken up by loud voices coming from outside her room. She groaned, rubbing her tired eyes, and pulled the blanket over her head, hoping the noise would stop. But it didn’t. The voices only got louder.

Frustrated, she sat up and listened carefully. It didn’t take long for her to recognize the voices—Lily and Tyler. She sighed. It was too early for this kind of drama. She swung her legs off the bed and slipped her feet into her slippers, dragging herself toward the bathroom to clean up her heavy face.

After cleaning she wipe it with a clean towel before stepping toward the window.

Looking outside, she saw Lily standing in the middle of the courtyard, her arms flailing as she shouted at Tyler. Tyler stood in front of Emma’s door, blocking Lily from coming inside. He looked calm, but there was a sharpness in his eyes, like he was holding himself back from saying something that might make things worse.

Emma breathed heavily wondering what could cause the argume

The news of Emma slapping Lily spread like wildfire throughout the pack. Some whispered about it in hushed voices, while others exaggerated the story, making it seem worse than it was. But the worst part was that Lucan, one of the Alpha’s most trusted Betas, had witnessed the incident firsthand. And of course, he only told the part that made Emma look bad.Lucan wasted no time reporting to the Alpha. “I saw it with my own two eyes, Alpha,” Lucan said, his voice filled with fake concern. “Emma slapped Miss Lily without any reason. Lily didn’t even do anything to provoke her.”The Alpha’s face darkened with anger. “Is that so?” He questioned with a raised eyebrow. Lucan nodded quickly. “Yes, Alpha. I wouldn’t lie about such a thing.”Seething with rage, the Alpha immediately summoned Emma. When Emma arrived at the hall, she was met with the Alpha’s cold glare. She could already tell that whatever this was about, it wasn’t going to end well. She stood with her back straight, refusing to

The twins returned from the meeting, feeling the weight of their responsibilities but eager to report back to the Alpha. As they stepped into the packhouse, they noticed a strange shift in the atmosphere. The usual lively energy of the pack replaced by something quieter, almost sad.Jayden exchanged a glance with Kale but didn’t say anything. Whatever was going on, they would find out soon enough. They made their way to the Alpha’s office, where their father sat behind his large wooden desk, his face unreadable.“The meeting went well,” Jayden started. “We’ve settled the issue with the border patrol, and the neighboring pack agreed to our terms.”Kale nodded. “Everything is in order. We just need to finalize the details in the next gathering.”The Alpha barely reacted. He simply gave a nod and leaned back in his chair.“Good. Anything else?”The twins hesitated. Something felt off. The Alpha was usually more engaged when it came to matters like these, but today, he seemed distant.Jay

The breeze in the dungeon had been thick with dampness, the stone walls suffocating and cruel. Emma had spent what felt like an eternity down there, surrounded by nothing but darkness and the distant sounds of howling wolves outside the packhouse. Her body ached from the cold floor, her wrists sore from where the guards had shoved her around earlier. But now, she was out.Kale held her close as he guided her through the dimly lit hallways of the packhouse. His arm was strong around her, steadying her when her legs threatened to give out. She wanted to tell him she was fine, that she could walk on her own, but the words never came. She wasn’t fine. Her breath hitched as they neared the grand staircase leading to the upper floors. A wave of exhaustion hit her, making her grip onto Kale’s sleeve without thinking.“We’re almost there,” he whispered, his voice a low murmur. His grip on her tightened protectively, as if he could shield her from everything that had already happened.Emma man

The next morning, Emma woke up and sat curled up on Kale’s bed, her arms wrapped around her knees. The warmth of the blanket he had given her did little to chase away the chill in her bones. She could still feel the dampness of the dungeon clinging to her skin, a reminder of how easily she had been cast aside. She let out a shaky breath, trying to calm herself. But then, through the thick walls of the packhouse, she heard a voice.“You went too far this time!” She recognized the voice as Kale’s, his voice was sharp, filled with barely restrained fury.“I did what was necessary,” that’s the Alpha’s voice.“Emma had disrespected me and this is my order.”Emma’s heart clenched, how did she disrespect the Alpha? Is it by defending herself or what? “Even tough, she’s still a part of this pack and our mate for that matter, father,” Jayden argued. “You can’t just throw her away like she’s nothing!”The Alpha’s voice was calm but firm. “I invited Emma into this pack because I believed she had

Emma sat on the edge of the bed, staring at her reflection in the mirror. The bruises on her wrist were already fading, but the weight in her chest remained. She knew what tonight meant. The Alpha had called a pack gathering, and it wasn’t hard to guess why.A sharp knock on the door broke her thoughts. Before she could answer, the door swung open. Lily stepped inside, dressed in an elegant deep blue gown that clung to her figure. Her hair was styled in perfect waves, her lips painted a soft pink. She looked like a princess.Emma, in her plain clothes and messy hair, felt like a beggar in comparison.Lily smiled sweetly, but her eyes held something colder. “You’re still sitting around?” she asked, tilting her head. “You should be getting ready.”Emma frowned. “For what?”Lily let out a soft laugh, stepping closer. “For the gathering, of course. Father has something very special planned for you.”Emma’s heart pounded, but she kept her face blank. “I already know,” she said flatly.Lily

Emma tightened her grip on her sleeves as she stood on the outskirts of the training field. The morning breeze carried the scent of damp earth and pine, but she barely noticed it. Her focus was on the wolves standing before her. They weren’t just warriors—they were the pack’s elite, trained fighters who had proven their worth over the years. Unlike her.Their gazes bore into her, some filled with amusement, others with indifference. A few looked outright annoyed, as if her presence here was a waste of their time. Emma’s stomach churned, but she refused to let it show. She had been humiliated enough.Cedric, the coach , stood at the front, arms crossed over his chest. He was built like a boulder, his sharp eyes scanning the gathered wolves before finally landing on her. There was no warmth in his stare, only the quiet judgment of a man who had already made up his mind.“Since the Alpha decided to keep you,” Cedric said, voice edged with sarcasm, “you’re going to prove that decision was

Her heart was still racing, her mind struggling to pull itself free from the images burned into her skull.Blood.So much blood. Her hands trembled as she stretched them in front of her, expecting to see the deep crimson that had coated them moments ago in her vision. But they were clean. Her skin was pale in the moonlight, her nails digging into her palms as she tried to steady herself.Jayden and Kale.Lifeless. Cold.Emma shook her head violently, trying to dislodge the sickening image. It wasn’t real. It couldn’t be. But the weight of it pressed against her chest, making it hard to breathe.Throwing the blankets off, she stumbled toward the washbasin, nearly tripping over the wooden floorboards. Her fingers fumbled for the metal pitcher, and she poured the water too fast, splashing her hands and the edge of the table. The moment the cold liquid touched her skin, she gasped, pressing her we

Emma had never been one to seek out attention, but avoiding the twins took more effort than she expected. It wasn’t just their presence that unnerved her—it was the vision. The gruesome image of Jayden and Kale lying lifeless, her own hands painted with their blood, haunted her. She could still hear the silence of it, the emptiness in their eyes.So she did the only thing she could. She put distance between them. She trained harder, pushing her body past its limits, forcing herself to stay busy so she wouldn’t have time to think about the vision. She avoided the twins as much as possible, keeping their conversations short and impersonal. At first, Jayden and Kale assumed she was still holding a grudge over how they had treated her before. That was nothing new. But as the days passed, her avoidance became more than just anger—it felt deliberate. She didn’t look at them. Didn’t speak unless she had to.And worst of all, she seemed to be spending more time with Tyler.Keeping Her Distanc

Tyler and Jack surrounded Emma curiously as they waited patiently for their Queen to elaborate more about her plan.“Tyler” she called out in a serious tone. “Arrange a meeting with the Faes. Tell them we are ready to surrender”“What? Are you out of your mind?” Tyler asked in disbelief. “My Queen, are you really sure about what you're saying?” Jack asked with concern etched all over his face.“Yes, I am sure about this. I wouldn't be saying so if I wasn't. Now, ask no more and do as I've instructed” Emma said, her tone taking an irritated edge.“But at least fill us in on what you plan to do if we arrange the meeting with the Faes. You can't just leave us out of this” Tyler said in a frustrated sigh.“My plan is to arrange a meeting with them and hold them hostage till they release my son”“Meanwhile, we can't let them know what we're planning to do to them. To them, it will be just a meeting”Tyler's lips parted in shock. He was about to say more when a maid suddenly burst into the

“Shawn” Emma wailed in agony as she fell helplessly to the floor. She was too late. If only she had come a few minutes earlier she could have saved her son.Tears rolled down her cheeks as Emma looked at the empty room for any traces of her Shawn but it was empty aside from the lifeless body of the maid she had assigned to protect him.The maid was on her back with eyes wide open. A long slit had been made on her neck where blood flowed out of, making a small poodle on the floor.Emma bit her lips and crawled to the maid's side. With one deep breath, she placed a hand over her eyes and closed them.As soon as she was done, she broke down, sobbing once again. If this was the fate of her maid, then what was going to happen to her son? She couldn't dare to think about it.“My Queen, please calm down one of her waiting maids," pleaded. “I believe the young master would be alright. You have to be strong if you want to see him again” She reasoned.Emma knew her maid's words made sense and a

Jack stood there, breathing hard. His eyes were wild.Emma stared at him. "What do you mean? What do you mean there’s an attack?" She rushed out hoping it was her ear having issues but little did she know it was real and she was in for a shocker.Jack wiped his forehead. "It’s real, Alpha. They came from nowhere. It was a sudden attack and we don’t know how. It’s sudden."Emma’s mouth dropped open. "How is that possible? How can they just attack like that without us knowing? Don't you think something is wrong in your information? Something we don't know?"Jack shook his head fast. "I don’t know, Alpha. We didn't miss anything. It’s like they just appeared out of nowhere and then they are there, staging the attack.”Emma looked at Tyler. Her heart raced fast, like it would jump out of her chest. She could not believe this but Jack could not be telling a lie. If he said they attacked suddenly, then they did so and needed to act fast before the attack got rough.Tyler moved closer upon n

On the second day, Emma sat on her bed, staring at the window. Her head hurt terribly as she didn't sleep much last night. She rubbed her eyes and continued looking out of the window. She had been quiet all morning. She didn’t feel like talking to anyone. She didn’t even eat her breakfast. Suddenly, there was a soft knock on the door. Before she could say anything, the door opened and a maid walked in, carrying Shawn in her arms. The little boy was crying loudly that even the windows seemed to shake. His face was wet and red and his small hands kept hitting the maid’s shoulders as he wailed, his feet's kicking the air and occasionally her thighs.“Miss Emma,” the maid said in a hurry, “I tried to calm him. He keeps crying and won't stop doing it. I don't know what to do. I have tried everything possible to pet him but it seems he wants only you.”Emma stared at the both of them for a while contemplating whether to just chase both the maid and her son away or collect him from her. She had matured over the years and she had the glow of a mother and queen. Her eyes shone with pride as she watched son dancing with his friends.‘Her son,’ she thought. She had done all in her power to protect him and she would continue to do so until her last breath. This throne, this legacy would be passed on to him when she was gone.Emma was no longer the weak wolf people knew her to be, instead that entity had been rep

After the twins had gone, Ava turned angrily to her mother. “Mom, what were you thinking? You could have gotten yourself killed. How good will you be to Emma if you're dead”“Shut up” her mother growled. “Don't act like you care about your sister. We all know you are happy that she's no longer here,” she revealed. “The twins are gone so quit the act”“Mom,” Ava said in disbelief. “Is that what you think of me? Don't you think that my alliance with the twins could be the only way we might get Emma back? I could persuade the twins to bring Emma back,” she added.“I would be a fool if I believed you, Ava,” Mrs Sinclair said. “I know you have no good intentions towards Emma. You're just saying all these because you don't want me to cause a scene or disrupt your love affair” she scoffed.‘Damn’ Ava thought. “How could her mom see through all her plans? She had to use a different tactic or her mom was going to ruin everything”She rubbed her cheek that still stung slightly and forced tears

Suddenly, the room was filled with an ear piercing laughter. It was Mrs Sinclair! She laughed like a mad woman and her sudden outburst caused everyone to turn in her direction. When she finally calmed down, she wiped the corner of her eyes and turned to the twins, her expression turning concerned.“Are you both okay? Are you in your right senses?” she asked worriedly. The twins felt insulted by her comment and they flared up immediately. “What do you mean by that?" Jayden growled. “Are you insulting us?”Mrs Sinclair shook her head quickly. “Of course not. I'm just stating the obvious. Because if truly you're in your right senses you wouldn't come here telling me Ava is your mate after impregnating Emma”“Mom” Ava yelled. “Please calm down” “Don't tell me to calm down, you slut!” she warned. “How could you be so cruel, so shameless”“Mrs Sinclair” Jayden growled. “You have no idea what you're saying,” he added. “Ohh” she scoffed. “Then please enlighten me, sir”Jayden’s eyes hardened

“Hii” Ava said breathlessly as she stared at the twins, not believing her eyes. They were actually really here to see her. Her lips widened on their own accord. She couldn't have been happier. She gripped the door handle tightly, struggling to breathe properly as the twins watched with interest, knowing their presence was having an effect on her.“You're really in my house" she blurted out and the twins smirked. “Yes we are. We're here to see you” Jayden spoke clearly.“Here to see me” Ava repeated, her cheeks heating as she gazed deeply at the twins.“How are you?” Kale couldn't help but ask as he watched a flushed Ava. In his eyes, she was the most lovely creature he'd ever seen.Jayden on the other hand couldn't explain how he was feeling. How could Ava be so different from that vile Emma? One sister was sweet and lovely while the other was wicked and cunning. ‘What a contrast’ he thought.‘The antidote must be working’ Ava thought with a smile. The days of her becoming Luna had b

You don't expect us to, she's not our marer, lilly.”Kale added, “We don’t feel anything for her, as simple as that.”Lily smirked. “Not even a little?
