Camilla Pov

I am in seated in front of a mirror, Alpha Lennox wasn’t joking when he said there was going to be a wedding.

It hadn’t been up to 24 hrs since we arrived and the preparations began.

I am almost certain he is not eager to wed me, but here we are.

There are about five girls in the room helping me with my hair, dress and make-up. The girl in front of me picked the silver eyeshadow, claiming it matched with my broach.

“I want the dark one” I insisted.

“But Luna, The Alpha instructed no harsh tone” she objected.

I don’t care what Lennox wants, I have no say in what he wears, so why would he have a say in mine. Perhaps this would serve as an act of defiance to him.

“I want the black one” I repeated. She let out a sigh but did as I said.

The two girls behind her stared at me through the mirror, I could tell they don’t approve of my choice.

My wedding is adorned beautifully with feather and diamonds that glitter, Lennox definitely had good taste in the finest things of the world. The corset hugs my waist firmly, pushing my breast in a more circular entrapment. The girls around me touch my hair, pull at the pins, fix the flowers.

The silence in the room was heart wrenching, adding much to my nervousness.

I whisper, low, “Have there been others? Other weddings?”

The girls freeze, their hands halt as they glance at each other. No one dares to answer, was it forbidden to speak about his weddings. Then the youngest one leans close to my ears,

“There were others,” she says, soft. “But no weddings. You are the first.”

That sounded strange to me, almost like a lie. I have heard of the brides he had accepted before me. What could they have done that warranted no weddings for them. Why was my own different. I hate being the first when it came to things concerning Lennox. I love to be prepared, to know what monster I am facing.

The door opens and my heart almost burst out thinking it was Lennox. A woman walks into the room, Black dress flowing like smoke. She had Dark hair, red lips, and a scar on her chin.

The girls bow their heads in her presence.

“My name is Lilith, Luna” she says giving me a little curtesy. “I will be teaching you how to please Lord Lennox, I shall already assume that you are a virgin.”

I refuse to answer that question, I already hate the idea that I would be giving my virtue to Alpha Lennox. Was he mocking me with these teachings.

“I don’t need you” I answered playing with my fingertips.

“You do, I will be back after the wedding.” she says calmly, “I will come and I will teach you what you must do to Please him. So that you can bear children for him.”

“I am not giving birth to any child for that monster” I curse underneath my breath.

If it weren’t for the guards on every post, I would have escaped by now.

She ignores me then turns around and leaves.

“You should speak that way Luna, you could be beheaded” the youngest one cautioned me.

I was nervous, panicking over the wedding, fearful of the future that awaits me.

The girls continued their works until they were done. Then they stepped back.

“You look beautiful,” one says.

“Like a Luna,” another whispers.

I stare at myself in the mirror, then I shake my head. My voice comes out rough. “I am no Luna. Just some unlucky girl who ended up here.”

***

The glass door slid opens to a hall filled with guest from around the world, people that I have never seen.

I search through the crowd for my parents but they weren’t there. Of course they wouldn’t. Lennox didn’t spare them the decency of letting them see their daughter wedded.

I kept my eyes forward as I walked.

And then I see him.

Lennox Steele.

Black suit sharp against his tall frame, His white hair neatly braided, his green eyes catch mine, begging me to stare at no one else but him. How could I, he was even more ravishing when he had no traces of blood on him.

Did the gods have to make him so perfect, monsters were supposed to have flaws. I don’t think Lennox has any flaws apart from being a monster.

I shouldn’t be having these thoughts about a man who is going to ruin my life. A few minutes from now, I will be his and he will be mine.

Still nothing changes the fact that he is the enemy, and I smile upon his grave when he is dead.

I walk slowly to him, the hem of my gown dragging across the floor, and when I reach him, his hand finds mine. I ignore it causing him to smile.

More Guests sip into the hall, Alphas of different packs. Men, Wolves, Humans and others marching in when it hits me.

A breathtaking scent.

Pine woods and Cherries. My heart slams in my chest. My wolf claws inside me, howling and crying.

Mate.

My eyes scan around the hall, searching until I saw him.

Standing by the door, just about to step in. His gaze locks on me, and his whole body breaks. Tears fill his eyes before I even breathe out.

“No!” he screams, “Not her!”

My lips part, my voice spit out. “Mate…”Before I can bury it, Alpha Lennox had already heard it. I could tell from the furious rage in his eyes. From The way he grabbed my hand so tight, his eyes wide with shock. This was definitely the worst day of my life.

The man runs to me, but before he could reach me, Zayn slams into him, throwing him down. Two more men grabbed him, hold him down on the floor, his arms pinned and bound in cuffs, his face pressed to the cold floor.

“No!” he cries out again, fighting, “You can’t take her. You’ve taken everything from me. You can’t take my mate too!”

The silence after those words felt wrong.Heavy.Like the whole room stopped breathing.I stared at Lennox, waiting for him to laugh it off, to smirk, to become that cold monster again. But he didn’t. He just stood there, eyes dark, jaw tight, body completely still.Afraid.The thought shook me.Lennox Steele feared nothing. Not death. Not war. Not gods. Men whispered his name like a curse because he was the thing monsters feared in the dark.So who… or what… was the Moon Blade?“Get the horses ready,” Lennox ordered sharply. The guard nodded quickly and rushed out.Lennox moved immediately after, grabbing weapons from the wall with fast rough movements. Sword. Gun. Daggers. His face hard again but I could still see it now. The crack in him.“You’re leaving?” I asked quietly.“Yes.”“Then tell me what the Moon Blade is.”“No.”I felt irritation rise instantly. “You keep me trapped here but refuse to tell me anything.”He strapped a blade against his side without even looking at me. “B

I hated myself for that. The thought followed me all the way back inside the mansion like a shadow stuck to my feet. How could I forget him? Even for a second. My mate was somewhere in this place, maybe hurt, maybe dying, maybe chained in one of Lennox’s dark rooms while I stood there letting another man hold me against him like I belonged there.I felt sick. The halls were quiet now, most of the warriors gone for the night. Only guards remained, standing at doors like statues. Their eyes followed Lennox whenever he passed, full of fear and respect twisted together. He walked ahead of me in silence. Calm. Cold again. Like nothing happened outside.Like he didn’t just press me against him until my knees almost gave out.I wanted to scream at him.Instead I stayed quiet. When we reached the room, he pushed the door open and stepped inside first. I stayed near the doorway, arms crossed tightly over my chest.“I want to see him.”Lennox stopped unbuckling the straps on his gloves. Slowly,

The room stayed quiet long after Lilith left.Too quiet.I sat there in front of the mirror, staring at myself while the girls cleaned up around me. Brushes. Oils. Silk fabrics. All these pretty things meant to make me look soft for a monster. One of the girls folded the robe neatly while another avoided looking at me completely. They were scared. Not of me. Of him. Everyone here feared him. The walls feared him. The air feared him.“Does he always do this?” I finally asked, my voice low.The girls paused.“Do what?” the smaller one whispered carefully.“Break people.”Neither of them answered. That was answer enough.I looked back at my reflection. My lips still red from his kiss. My neck still warm where his fingers held me. I hated that my body remembered him. Hated that my heart betrayed me every time he came close.Mate.The word made me sick now.Not because of Lennox.Because of the other one.The man dragged across the floor while screaming for me. My real mate. The pain in hi

A knock comes at the door before I can even catch my breath again.Three soft knocks. Calm. Controlled.I already know who it is.“Enter,” I mutter, pushing myself away from the wall, my fingers brushing over my swollen lips. I hate that I can still feel him there. The door opens and Lilith walks in. Black dress, straight posture, eyes sharp enough to cut skin. Behind her are two girls carrying boxes and folded fabrics in their arms. Her eyes move over me once. Just once. But I know she notices everything. The messy bed. My red cheeks. The way my breathing still isn’t steady.“Lord Lennox has informed me to begin your lessons immediately,” she says calmly.Of course he did.I cross my arms over my chest. “Lessons.” I spit the word out bitterly.Lilith nods toward the girls. “Prepare her.”The girls hurry toward me, placing things down on the bed. Silks. Oils. Jewelry. Thin dresses that barely cover anything. My stomach twists the moment I see them.“I’m not wearing that,” I say quickl

Camilla POV:I woke up to the sound of birds chirping on the beautiful tree outside, my cheeks stained with tears from last night. I never thought life would be so cruel to me that I would find my mate on my wedding day to the man I hated the most. I was broken and hurt in ways I can’t even name. When I saw him, I fought all restraints to run to him, a moment I had waited for all my life, to be with my mate instead the monster I was married to.It should have been him, it should have been my mate who I said my vows to. Still it wasn’t. Lennox had the decency of not touching me last night, not because he cared about my feelings. He didn’t. He never will.He just needed me to be ready for him in his own way, by his time and under his rules. As if I would ever be ready for him. The bathroom door swings open. I jolt, almost screaming with my whole body locking in fear. And then he steps out.Lennox.He had the white towel low on his hips, water still dripping from his skin. His hair we

Lennox POV:Fuck!I should have known, I should have known that I wouldn’t be let off easily. Ofcourse she would have her own mate, this was the moon goddess way of tormenting me. To give me a woman that belongs to another. Wasn’t it enough that she didn’t feel the bond when I felt it every moment surging through my veins from the minute I saw her.I never asked for this, I never ask for a mate, that was the main reason why I killed my first mate but this, this was worse than I had expected. Not once did I think this could happen, not once did I think I would share her with another. I don’t share, I never do.My name is Lennox Steele and I will not share my mate.I can still see the tears in her eyes when we said our vows, just after she found out that she had a mate. Should I be grateful that she still accepted to marry me. Like hell, she didn’t have a choice, I would have brought her to her knees and forced her to marry me.All I could see in her eyes were hatred, she might have th
