17. Awaiting Punishment
A week went by, but Jake didn't do or say anything to me. I was in full panic mode. What did Jake have in store for me? What kind of punishment was he talking about? Ugh! I'm gonna go crazy!
I kept looking over my shoulders, expecting something bad to happen. I even avoided stairs like he should push me down or something. I know I am being ridiculous, but he is so intimidating!
I saw him in school several times, but he never approached me or said anything to me. Maybe this was the punishment. Being afraid of the unknown. He was trying to torture me to death mentally!
I had math club after school, so I didn't get home until 5 in the afternoon. I was relieved as the school was over, and I got to avoid confrontation with Jake the whole day. I'm safe for now.
After I got home, I decided to take a nice long hot shower then head to bed. All that anticipation of Jake torturing me made me exhausted.

I should feel relieved as Aaron was so nice about the whole thing, but I still felt an ache in my heart. Something just felt wrong. Why couldn't I get Jake out of my mind? It was just one stupid kiss, and it didn't even mean anything to him. My phone buzzed all of a sudden, so I checked my text messages. Meet me in the park by your house. Jaketexted me.
