Chapter 7

Penulis: Apples
Mia's eyes widened in shock.

"What are you saying?" she shrieked. "Tom, have you gone mad?! I'm your destined mate! How could you betray me like this?"

Tom let out a short, hollow laugh.

"Mate?" he repeated coldly. "Mia, we never truly completed the ceremony, have you forgotten? There's nothing for me to betray."

"Mia..." his voice lowered. "You've always known this."

Her lips trembled, unable to believe the man before her would say such things.

As a lord, he was utterly shameless.

"I never loved you," Tom continued, his tone merciless. "I merely convinced myself that time and power would make me forget Lorraine, and I only used you."

He turned to me, his gaze filled with remorse.

"Until today," he said hoarsely, "until I saw you standing beside someone who truly cherishes you, I finally understood what I had lost."

"Lorraine," he whispered, almost breaking down, "I regret not choosing you, choosing someone I didn't love."

Mia's expression twisted into pure rage.

“I don’t need your blood pact,” I said calmly, shaking my head. Tom stared at me as if I had slapped him. “Why?” his voice choked. “These things will make you stronger, and I will obey you.” My gaze met his, the love I had for him six years ago completely gone from my eyes. “I don’t want you, just like you abandoned me back then. I don’t love you anymore.” “I never changed!” he said hoarsely, shaking his head. “Rowling, my love for you has never changed!” “I was forced to do it before, but I still love you.” “Love?” I let out a soft, humorless laugh. “Do you remember what you said when you and Mia held the public blood pact ceremony?” “When you knew she hired a werewolf priest to carve forbidden runes on me—with the purpose of preventing my awakening and stripping me of my bloodline—was that love?” His face turned pale. He slowly closed his eyes, as if the weight of it all had finally become unbearable. “Rowling… back then—if I had told you the truth… if I had asked you to

Back in the inner chambers of the Midnight Court, Aurelius gently placed the sleeping Astra on the silk bed prepared for him. The ancient runes on the walls dimmed with the child's peaceful breathing. Only then did Aurelius turn to look at me. He pulled me into his arms, holding me tightly, as if he never wanted to let go. "Were you afraid tonight?" he asked softly, his fingers running through my hair. I shook my head, resting my cheek against his chest, the steady, eternal rhythm of his heartbeat echoing in my ears. "With you here," I whispered, "I'm not afraid." His arms tightened around me. "But..." his voice deepened, becoming thoughtful, with a hint of danger. "That name—Mia Luke. I've heard that name before." I looked up at him, puzzled. "Have you met her?" "No," he said slowly. "But her family has long been associated with the forbidden werewolf pact." "The Luke family betrayed the nobility of vampires, choosing the defilement of werewolves." Then his gaze sharpened.

  • The Unclaimed Consort   Chapter 6

Aurelius gently placed the sleeping Astra into my arms. The moment his hand left the child, the warmth on his face vanished. When he turned back to face the hall, the figure standing before them was the ruler of the Midnight Court—not a partner, not a father, but a supreme monarch. "Now," he said calmly. His voice wasn't loud, yet it echoed in every corner of the hall, pressing down on the hearts of everyone present. "Who will explain to me why my consort was treated like a criminal?" The temperature in the room seemed to drop suddenly. The hotel's head butler—a high-ranking vampire appointed to oversee council affairs—trembled as he stepped forward, fear flashing in his crimson eyes. "Your Majesty," he stammered, bowing deeply. "This... this is a misunderstanding. The hotel had no intention of offending Her Majesty the Queen." "A misunderstanding?" Aurelius coldly retorted. His silver gaze swept across the room. "I saw with my own eyes the council guards laying hands on my

In the dazzling light, Astra suddenly broke free from Mia's embrace. "Daddy! Daddy!" The little boy stumbled forward, stretching out his arms, and threw himself into the arms of the man who had just arrived. The man effortlessly held him with one arm, hugging him tightly, his other hand protectively placed on the child's shoulder. "It's alright," he whispered, his voice low and steady. "Daddy's here." Only then did his gaze lift—directly to me. Silver eyes, ancient and bright, a rare expression on the face of an immortal ruler. Regret. And longing. "Rowling," he said softly, as if the entire hall didn't exist. "I'm sorry. I should have come sooner." The restraints on my arms disappeared. The council guards recoiled as if struck by an invisible force, their faces instantly paling under his powerful aura. Some stumbled backward, some even involuntarily knelt down. I stood up and walked towards him. "Aurelius." A tremor ran through the hall at the sound of his name. The mo

  • The Unclaimed Consort   Chapter 4

Tom's tense and uneasy expression stirred a long-buried memory within me. Six years ago. Darkness enveloped his ancient castle, and on that very night, he officially took over the family, only to be openly challenged by several elders who believed his bloodline was unstable and his power insufficient. When I found him, he was sitting alone under the colonnade, blood seeping from his torn gloves, gazing at a dull, lifeless stone in his hand. "What is that?" I asked softly. "An amulet," he chuckled hollowly. "They say it can calm restless blood and stabilize the soul." His fingers tightened around the stone. "I've been holding it for hours. But I still feel... powerless." I knelt beside him and began to clean his wounds. "Strength doesn't come overnight," I said softly. "You've already endured pressure that most people couldn't bear." He looked at me—no longer as a vampire lord, but as a man stripped of all pretense. "Rowling," he whispered, his voice hoarse. "If one day I becom
