Chapter Seven: A Long Night

BRIELLE's POV

I stepped into Peirxly feeling like I had the world at my fingertips. I was sure I did. After staying up the whole night, I had finally seen a part of the contract that proved that I was going to be free from Huxley and although some rational part of me was reminding me of how we had no source of income or way to survive the next month, I was certain that settling to see Huxley’s face and being on his payroll was most likely going to be my worst nightmare.

“Brielle Levine, I have an appointment for 8am,” I told the receptionist that made Stacie look tacky in comparison.

“Top floor, the secretary there would attend to you,” she said curtly with a polite nod and I went in the same direction that I had passed yesterday. The elevator had just two people inside and they gave me a cursory nod as I entered.

Like yesterday, I was still as anxious as ever, however, this time, I could spare some more effort into looking around.
